Attempted to load High Elf files from backup, same issue. Appears to be bug with game file.
Update: This is happening for all armies that have access to spells. If they have access to more lores than Life Shadow or Death (or their armybook lore) it does not show any of those lores as available for selection. I deleted the last update and relaunched AB. Same issue. Version 3.4.

I noticed this last night and fixed it. Hoping we now have a solution to the other issue now!

I use IE9 for my browser.

If you can keep your head while all about you are loosing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation.

WFB Armies: High Elves (4,500), Orcs & Goblins (6,000) and Daemons of Chaos (6,000)
40K Armies: Ultramarines (6,500), Blood Angels (7,000), Dark Angels (4,000), Imperial Guard (3,500), Orks (4,500), Tyranids (4,000), Dark Eldar (2,500) and Tau Empire (2,500)

Just downloaded the file using IE and installed the file. It worked without beastman.aug bug.
Then went and downloaded the same file using Firefox and lo and behold the bug reappears! I have been using Firefox in the past for all updates and havent had an issue that was browser related. Just thought u should know.

EDIT:Just went and used IE9 to redownload and install 2.48 again and it worked without issue. Seems there IS a browser issue.
Going to email colen the file i get when i use Firefox.

Edit2: Actually it wont let me email the Firefox file as it is empty in the wh8 file. 0 kb. Which might be the issue altogether.
The IE9 downloaded beastman.aug file has 4kb. Think for sure I found the issue. NOW FIX IT!!.....lol
I think what's happening is that Firefox is caching the "bad" 0kb file and giving it to you again every time you download it, even though it's not the "real" version. I've seen this a bunch of times in the past, and unfortunately it seems to happen to people at random. If it's like the previous incidents of the problem, the next time the files are updated, it should work fine.

Yobtar, it would be really helpful if you could do the following: Within Army Builder, select the 0kb version of the file to import, take a screenshot of the import form, and email it to me? I'm trying to figure out why you didn't just get a "this file couldn't be opened, sorry" error.

Also, try zipping up the .ab file and emailing it to me at colen@wolflair.com, that might work even though windows doesn't want you to email the 0kb file.

Thanks for following up on this!

Update! I found the root cause of this last night - there's a bug in a third-party component we use for file compression that only hits in very rare circumstances. The bug has been in there for literally 15 years without causing a problem, and has apparently just decided to show itself.

I'll be putting out an AB patch soon to resolve this issue. Thanks for your reports, everyone!
