The hard way: Augment every unit with a 'size:1-100' local attribute.
The easy way: Complain to whoever it is that writes the Warmaster files,
and ask them to change the unit sizes from '1:1' to '1'.

I know that everyone is chomping at the bit for the new release of
Army Builder. I was just wondering if anyone had an adjusted
timeline for when it is going to be released.

Being a loyal AB user, I am anxious but I also want Rob to take his
time and create the quality product that we are all used to.

So, that being said, I don't care if it comes out in early August, or
early September, I would just like to know when it will come out.

It can't be much longer. The software itself is finished, and I believe
the boxes are done. I think the holdup at this point is the registration
mechanism. At least that's what I remember from the last frantic missive
from Rob.

I too am more than willing to give Rob all the time he needs to get things
right. The only facet of this that does have me frustrated is that many if
not all updates to the army files themselves seem to be on hold until
version 2.0. Not that I can blame the authors, of course. I wish there was
some happy medium, but I'd rather wait and have it right than not and get a
bad product.

This was considered by myself and by John Connell (whom I often
consult with if I need an opinion) and we decided that it isn't a
good idea for Warmaster. The reason for this is that in Warmaster
units have a fixed size and it only varies once the game has begun
(i.e. some stands from the unit die). Further, it would greatly
complicate adding magic items to units. Generally, most units only
require two lines on the print out so even a large army can usually
be printed on a front and back page.

I have a question about upgrading 1.4d.. I know that I'll get it free <yup I

Will it just be a D/L to 1.4 but still use the CD as a "registration key"?

Just thought I'd get on the ball and find out about updating my system
<yes I'm in that group of... HURRY, but don't sacrifice quality for time

The beta test team has been using the final version of AB2 for the past
month or so, portent.net has even reviewed it. The problem is with the
registration servers - they have to be correct, stable, unhackable ,
secure, able to cope with heavy load, etc...

Will you be creating a data file to add these to the Catachans? The info is
available on the Armageddon site and it says they may be included in any
Deathworld army.

I did indeed mean to release new datafiles for Army Builder 1.4d when or

I've just realised I overwrote them with the new files. Oops

Colen is talking about a red ! on the _validation_ screen, not the
one on the main screen. (Well I ASSUME that's what he was asking
because he should know damn well what causes the one on the main
screen!)

Cheers,
Russell.

I'd imagine that new links will be added as people release files for V2.
The ab-files@egroups.com list is a good place to subscribe to if you
want to be reminded about new files
