I don't mean to clutter things. I just wanted to make it clear that this is an entirely new version of the redaction script, not just a new comment about or a minor tweak for the previous version.

I've modified the script to accept command line arguments. It's much more useful, but also more complex. More complex also means more potential for bugs (right, Rob?). Again, backup your files before using this. Feedback is welcome. I'll do what I can to fix whatever bugs you may discover, but as for adding or changing functions that work, those requests will be low on my priority list. I've recently found myself without gainful employment, so that's my priority right now, and that's taking a lot out of me.

This script responds to the Get-Help cmdlet. To get more information, use one of the following commands:
Get-Help .\RedactDescriptions.ps1
Get-Help .\RedactDescriptions.ps1 -details
Get-Help .\RedactDescriptions.ps1 -examples
Get-Help .\RedactDescriptions.ps1 -full

The outputs of these commands are included in the zip file.

For those who missed my earlier post, this script redacts or replaces descriptions in .user files (or whichever other files you specify). It is my understanding that content can be copyrighted, but mechanics cannot. If I'm authoring or editing things for my own use, I like to have full descriptions. I also like to share work that I've done (though, I have very little to share so far).

I wrote this script so I can keep full descriptions for my own use, yet have an easy way to redact those when I have something that's ready to share. In the event that others might find this useful as well, I'm sharing it here.

Enjoy!
