I'm playing around trying to understand how this all works, I have a friend create an account and sent him an invitation, I revealed a couple of topics, then in players view told it to show. My friend reports that he can't see anything. What am I missing that is preventing him from seeing what I am revealing?

You have to sync after revealing, and then the player has to sync after that.
What your friend is using is called "Player edition", btw. "Player view" is using a second monitor to display things from your GM version at the gaming table. No biggie, but using the wrong terminology might confuse people trying to answer you. |

So, do I need to exit the realm to sync it every time i reveal something?

Yes. The Player Edition is meant to be a reference to things that happened in previous sessions, not real-time updates. (They intended Player View for that.)

Player View is what you can show on your own screen, or for a better result on a secondary monitor attached to your computer. The Player View is to be used during play, so that you can show pictures, text and maps. I use a 46" TV for that amd it works very well. Player Edition When your player has RW (GM edition, Player edition or web edition) and he has been invited by you, he is able to see already revealed content. Player edition is not meant to be used during play - except to see already revealed content. Player edition allows your players to see your world (well, what you have revealed) during sessions. It is not possible (atm, it might change) to reveal something in RW as a GM and have it instantly revealed in the player editions. So yes, you have to reveal what you want, exit your realm and sync your realm to the cloud. Then your player has to start his player edition of RW and sync from the cloud. Vargr Deputy Calendar Champion Legend has it, that the Tarrasque is a huge fighting beast, perpetually hungry. Sleet entered History when he managed to get on the back of a Tarrasque only to be ridden out of History shortly after. Using Realm Works, Worldographer (Hexographer 2), LibreOffice, Daz3D Studio, pen & paper for the realm World of Temeon and the system LEFD - both homebrewed. |
