Playing D&D 5e, do I add a familiar with the "Mounts and Hirelings" button under the Gear tab? Thanks

I believe if you add the Find Familiar spell to the character by picking it from a list, the portfolio will automatically add it as a new Hero. Click on that Hero and you should be able to pick the "race", IE what kind of familiar it is.

It will be located under the spell tab of the related class normally. If you got Find Familiar another way (Arcane Initiate, Ritual Caster, etc.) you can go to the Adjustments tab and add it as an Adjustment (bottom of the list). Select the class you want to get the familiar, then go to that class.
