I'm trying to make a new magic item in editor. (A simple shift of Bracers of Armor into an Amulet of Armor). Unfortunately when I hit the Test button, the following error appears:

Hero Lab was forced to stop compilation after the following errors were detected:

Cannot create core run-time file: C:\ProgramData\Hero Lab\data\pathfinder\data.hlz

I haven't seen that before. Have you tried again since, and had the same error? Are you trying to save your item to a new user file?

Edit: I agreed with Azhrei, it does sound like permission. What bothers me is that data.hlz is a LW file (not a user file) that should already exist.

Current RPG's: Pathfinder (GM), Pathfinder (Player), Gamma World (GM, Pathfinder homebrew).
HeroLab: 3.5 & Pathfinder. HL User Files for PF: Greyhawk Setting, Gamma World (WIP).

DM and player of D&D since 1980.

I'm not a Windows guy, but "Cannot create" sounds like a permission issue, perhaps an antivirus that is blocking the request...?
