Customization is pretty much the best way to improve it. It allows everyone to get exactly what they want out of a Character Sheet. If you can change the look, rearrange the information to your liking, reize the information, add remove information to your liking, then you have an improved Character Sheet.

I can't speak for everyone else- however personally I'd love to have ones that more closely resemble the default sheets, such as the one in the back of the PHB, or the Adventurer's league sheets.
EDIT: Though I don't know what the licensing on that would be, which might be a prickly issue Last edited by seelenamt; April 21st, 2016 at 07:22 PM. |

When I print the character sheets off, the portraits tend to come out black and white. Whenever you save the sheet as a PDF then print it, the portrait prints in color. Is there some option that I'm missing when directly printing from hero lab?

It would be great if the app would turn sideways on the iPad Pro like all my other apps.
Currently, this app only uses Portrait view, not the Landscape view. I like to use the keyboard for typing, but it only works in Landscape view. Peace |

This is something that really needs to be focused on as the current character sheet is atrocious with information being cut, or entirely missing, and with such a hodge-podge arrangement that it really detracts from the usefulness of it.

Out of curiosity, has anyone created a custom sheet that reads the xlm output to a character sheet more like the official one?

Yes. A custom sheet was added to the 5e Community Pack two versions ago.
If you have that installed go to "File->Save Custom Output" and choose "DnD5e.info Custom Output" option. Then click "output". I'm getting the following error with the DnD5E.info Custom Output:
An error occurred while transforming the input file: Unknown error! (Yea, oh joy, unknown). I don't have a pdf plugin, as I'm on a mac and I don't see it listed. (Reason I'm asking, I'm creating a .user file for custom output that generates a Fantasy Grounds xml file).
