I'd like to add custom spells names to the available spell lists just like you can add a feat under feats? Is that possible? If so, where is it done?

Thanks!

Hello again,

I've gone into the editor to add a spell but it tells me after I click on the test now button the editor comes back with 'File: SPC_Spell.user (user line 3) Thing - Invalid Unique ID'

The unique ID I've entered is sBenignTra

I read the tutorial a couple of times now and I don't think I've used any illegal characters.

Can you tell me why I'm getting the error? Thanks.

Did you copy anything to look at, and forget to delete that?

I didn't copy anything. It was all hand jammed. I'm going to delete the file since it has only the one spell in it and I'll start from scratch and see if I get the same error again. BTW, what folder should I be saving the .user file in?

Thanks.

HeroLab/data/pathfinder, which should be the editor's default save folder.

Why didn't you copy anything? The easiest way to create a new thing is to think of something that already exists that's similar to it, click "new (copy)" and pull that in, and make only the changes that are needed.

Oh, and you couldn't have gotten that error unless your file was in the correct folder, since the compiler only looks at HeroLab/data/pathfinder

It sounds like the name you gace the spell is already in use for something else. you can look in the listing of thing, just do a Findthing from the pre-req page to get the liost.

Its all good. I deleted the file and recreated the spell and saved it no problem. Its very possible I created a blank record as I was exploring the tool set and not paying that much attention to what I was doing. Thanks for the advice on 'new copy'. I'll take advantage of that feature for sure. Sorry about my newbie mistakes and I appreciate you're efforts and advice. Thanks!
