I keep getting a "Too many tool proficiencies chosen" error message on a character I'm working on. I sent it over to Lone Wold support and they said it looks like it's an issue with the community pack content and suggested I reach
out to the folks in the forum. I've attached the .por and the xml version (renamed .txt because the forum wouldn't let me upload the .xml file). I haven't yet tried creating a different character to see if the same issue arises but I figured I'd post this in case any of the HL pro's can see anything that jumps out. I'll post an update if I see the same issue with a new character.

It looks like the offender is the Calligrapher's supplies and I'm thinking you added this tool proficiency at some point with either a feat or adjustment that you later removed without clearing out the tools from the Proficiencies tab? The tag shows the skill was added with the community cfg5CProf configurable which is generally only used by the Adjustment "Proficiencies" or by the Feat "Skilled".

What I had to do to get rid of the error was to go to the Adjustments tab, give myself the "Proficiencies" adjustment and move the adjustment to +1 forcing the Proficiencies tab to show up.

I removed the tool from this tab and then removed the adjustment. The error goes away. You can give yourself the tool proficiency back by going over to the Skills tab and adding the tool via the "Add Tools from Training" link.

The community configurables sometimes have issues where if you don't clear out the options you selected on the tab, they options are still added to the character but are hidden from you.

Thank you for the explanation. I don’t recall doing that but I’m still fairly new to the application so I may have when I was playing with the editor. I appreciate the walkthrough

No problem. The community files have lots of little quirks that crop up from time to time. This is one of those that show up occasionally and I'm not sure of the best way to address it so other people don't stumble across it later. I wish that LWD could get a full 5e license and we could get more dedicated support or at least some 5e oriented knowledgebases and tutorials.

I've had this issue pop up more than once for these exact reasons. Unfortunately, I could never remember where I messed things up and had to just make a new copy of the character. :/
