Hey everyone,
Rob and I have been talking about user requests recently, and our thoughts have turned to printed output. We've made some improvements to this in the last few updates - adding the ability to print a list of memorized spells or spells in your spellbook, as well as some changes to the standard sheet - but there's a lot more we could do. So it's to you, our users, that we turn. If you could change Hero Lab's printed output, what would you change it to? For example: * "It'd be awesome if Hero Lab output X as well!" * "If only there was space for me to write down my Y on the character sheet!" * "I wish I could print out Z on a separate page!" What do YOU want to see in the printouts? Anything is fair game - more information, less information, different information? Please let us know! We have a bunch of ideas ourselves, but we want to see what our community wants so we can prioritize things. Thanks in advance for your feedback! |

It would be probably a beast to program, but I'd like HTML and BBCode options for all official datasets. This would enable people to post their original characters seamlessly to their wensties and to forums like those operated by WOTC and White Wolf.
Hero Designer from Hero games has a whole set of export templates 9although, strangely, not one that exports directly to their BBS's code set, which is something the fanbase has been demanding). |

Does having PDF output solve the problem of putting characters on your website? You can always save your portfolio to a PDF and upload it to your site.
Saving to BBCode is an excellent idea! One thing that we'll be working on real soon is text output (in the standard statblock format), so it should be pretty easy to be able to select whether you want to output as plain text, an HTML fragment that you can paste into the middle of a document, or BBCode for posting on forums. Thanks for the feedback! |

Well, this might seem like a small thing, but the ability to have your characters portrait in the Gallery print up would be pretty cool to have on the printed out sheet.
