I just purchased Hero Lab yesterday in order to help run the Rise of the Runelords adventure. One of the first encounters has goblins wielding torches as weapons. How to you equip a torch as a weapon in Hero Lab?

Create a custom weapon, choose the base weapon it counts as (probably club), type in a custom name so that it is shown as "torch", and then add the "Improvised" item power, since torches are improvised weapons.

Or check out the Community Bestiary which not only has the "torch" weapon all done and has all the encounters, monsters, and magic items for RotRL also done.

Thank you very much.

Chemosh, I've just replaced my community pack with the community bestiary and downloaded the Runelords .por zip files. I can't see any way to set the goblins up with an improvised torch weapon though. I was going to create one by copying and adjusting the tongs, but I see that there's a wuTorch weapon in one of the files already. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

From memory the Torch was keyed to RotRL so make sure that source is turned on.

If you found wuTorch you can look and see which Source is needed to get access to it.

I couldn't see how to tell in the editor which source an item is from. I seem to have access to it now anyhow (although the damage is one die too high). Is there any way to add 1 point of fire damage? The existing one has +1d4 fire damage.

Some of the RotRL is from original I think it did do 1d4 fire damage. Pretty sure it was suppose to be touch also. What does the new Anniversary version of RotRL put the damage at?

So your trying to just add "+1 Fire"? If so you can use my adjustment addon and use "Weapon Elemental Dmg, Custom" to add that wording. Which is included in the CB.
