so, going to throw out a few different idea's in different threads... just my thoughts.

some kind of dice roller mechanic. lots of times a foe may drop random treasure - 1d4X10 sp. would be nice to roll that to found out what the results are.

anyway. just my 1d4x10sp worth of ideas.

Cheers,

J.

Odd, there seems to be one in the tutorial videos. It would be nice to have one integrated, but I can keep using my current one.

There's a dice roller planned, but nothing has been implemented at this time. My guess is that you saw the icon for it on the ribbon bar in the tutorial video. At present, it's just a placeholder, so it's omitted from the actual product.

Just chiming in here to see if the dice roller is coming up soon in any release. I've started adding a lot of dice charts into Realm Works and would love to be able to pull it up and roll without having a separate page open in Chrome or using another app or even grabbing my dice.

I know it's a lower pri than some other things (namely the Player Mode), but just thought I'd see what the devs have to say.

Finally, will the die roller only have standard die, or will we be able to roll weird things like d35?

That would make a great Snippet type: "Random Table".

Title field, short Note field (frequency of checks, or other relevant information), 2-column table for the entries themselves, and then a combination line containing the "results" button and a field to show what result was rolled. Bonus points to the team if it can handle embedded ranges so it returns "3 Zombies" instead of "1d4 Zombies".

Pyremius, you mad genius, that would be sweet!

Especially if you could press a button to reroll on the table...

Here's a very basic die roller you can use within Realm Works if you'd like. Just right-click the link, save it to a file, and add it to an HTML Page (Complete) Snippet in RW.

ESG Labs Roller

It's been ages since I did Javascript. :)

I've uploaded a fancier version of the dice roller; it now supports showing the individual dice, keeping dice, multiple rolls, math, and grouping. It's still at:

ESG Labs Roller

Let me know if you run into any problems. (It's gotten complicated now so you probably will. Always bugs. :(

Hope this helps.

Edit: I updated this again toni...this morning to show individual dice and let you keep less than the number of dice rolled.
