Some information for everyone so there is no confusion in anyones minds about how the AB40k team manage releases.

First off the files are coded and then tested internally. After this we then release the file on our own site, www.ab40k.org, as an alpha file, i.e. v1.29a.

The reason for this is it gives people the opportunity to download and use the file. They can then report any problems that may come up.

We aim to fine tune the file within seven days. After this the file is then released into the AB release mechanism.

There is a one month embargo on all new datafiles. The date is taken from when the codex goes on general release, not in army deals, advance order etc and uses the last date the book became available. For example the Ork codex became available on the 12 January 08 so the earliest the file will go out in any form is the 12 February 08. There is no slippage or leeway on this embargo in any way, shape or form.

As a final note - please see the FAQs within AB about when files are available, for clarity, it is reproduced below:

When will xyz be added?

Simple....when it's done.

All time frames are approximate and are not intended as anything set in concrete ... apart from the one month embargo!
