I'm not sure what I'm seeing here (I'm still investigating). But if others have seen this and explain it, then I don't need to file a bug report.
I have a wizard with a scorpion familiar. When I use Portfolio -> Duplicate Fred..., I get a copy of Fred and a copy of Fred's familiar. But the original familiar has its hit points go up by three and each of its saves go up by two (I added one level of monk to a Ftr1/Wiz with Magical Knack). It looks like the familiar that belongs to the first Fred is treated as the second Fred's familiar -- the hit points go up by three because the level added to the new Fred went up by six, and the saves went up because a familiar uses the master's base saves if they're better. I guess my question is, has anyone else seen this and, if so, am I missing something? I think this should go into a bug report... Thanks. |

I think I see what happened.
The dashboard on the right originally included: Snatch (familiar) Xanthia (PC) When I duplicated the PC, the list changed to this: Snatch (familiar) Xanthia (PC) Xanthia #2 (PC) Snatch (familiar) Clearly, the second Xanthia is the new PC, and I assumed the second Snatch was the new PC's familiar. Wrong! The first familiar listed was associated with the second PC! Wow, that's confusing. And it's definitely getting a bug report! It seems to me that whatever text is added to the end of the PC's name (such as the "#2," above), should also be added to all minions as well (familiars, companions, mounts, etc). And perhaps even sort them or something so they stay together in the list. I'll do the bug report in a moment. |
