This information has also been posted on the main page of our website
as a news item. You are welcome to cross-post this to other lists if you wish.... The Beta team has now been given the final release version of Army Builder V3.1. They will be spending the next week making any necessary adjustments to their data files in preparation for the public release. We'll be officially releasing V3.1 to everyone on Tuesday, November 29th (most likely, late on the 28th). The V3.1 release will also include the public availability of the Authoring Kit, which is the toolset for writing data files for Army Builder. Both will be free updates for all existing users. We'll post details here on the support forum in a few days regarding many of the new features that have been added. Please be patient and don't flood tech support with this question, since doing so will only delay things. :-) I'd like to thank everyone for their patience while we got this beast of a release finished up. It's taken much longer than planned, but we're quite happy with the end result. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that, once everyone has had a chance to use V3.1, they'll feel it was worth the wait! :-) Thanks, Rob --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rob Bowes (rob@wolflair.com) (408) 927-9880 Lone Wolf Development www.wolflair.com |

Hiya,
I used to have an account here with access to the beta builds, but it was deleted for some reason. Anyway, I'm a maintainer of the 40K files and need access. You can PM on the maintainer website for verification, http://ab40k3.homelinux.net/, or email me at stelek@techie.com if that email is in your records somewhere. Thanks Rob. |

Well, if you don't want to bother giving me access I can not bother to release the 40K files for the 3.1 release. They won't be done until I get the beta build, fyi.

Er, excuse me?
It's been barely 15 hours since you posted your statement that you needed access to the Beta, and here you are getting snippy that we haven't dealt with it yet. Not to mention that at least half of those hours were normal "sleep" periods for us. Sheesh! Give us chance! :-P By now, you should have heard from Colen about getting onto the AB Beta group. When we setup the new forums, we invited all members of the 40K authoring team to join the Beta team. We also made it clear to the 40K team that any new additions were welcome on the Beta team at any time. Unfortunately, we don't know when new members are added to the 40K team, so we have no way to know when someone needs to be added to the Beta team. You might want to let everyone on the 40K team know about this so that new members on the 40K team can be quickly added to the AB Beta team in the future - and any other current members that aren't on the AB Beta team yet can be added now. Well actually, I was in the group as I was a founding member of same. My account was deleted, and I had to re-register. That's why I'm annoyed.

I have no idea how your account ended up deleted. To my knowledge, we have only added people to the Beta team since the new forums were setup. Is it possible that the account name was slightly different from what you remembered? Or the password was slightly different?
I know that I've managed to mis-remember account names and/or passwords in the past after a period of non-use. And I agree that it can be extremely annoying when things like that happen.... :-) -Rob At 08:34 AM 11/24/2005, you wrote: Quote:
