Another set of changes and a pair of new book releases for our last big update of the year. Hope you all get some good gaming in over the holidays, and we look forward to seeing you all on the other side!

Key Changes of Note
  • PF2 - Now available for purchase: Lost Omens Absalom, City of Lost Omens
  • PF2 - Now available for purchase: Lost Omens Monsters of Myth
  • PF2 - Due to recent performance enhancements, the limit on active weapons available on a hero has been raised from 8 to 10.
  • Many small usability improvements and bug fixes. See “The Nitty Gritty” below for more information

The Nitty Gritty
Changes and Improvements
  • Create Character dialog can optionally open the character after creation. This option is checked by default.
  • The create character window supports the "Enter" key to confirm creating the character.
  • The “quick link” icons atop the Play tab provide an interactive popover menu to select the jump target..
  • When selling items that contain other items, the contained items that will also be affected are listed.
  • The character summary side view signals when there are errors/warnings on any minions.
  • The folder option menus on the select character screen match the look of the character option menus.
  • Improved app responsiveness when navigating a character and jumping to specific play tab sections
  • Improved the performance of several views
  • Improved responsiveness of input controls for faster results
  • Server performance improvements should result in noticeably faster response times overall
  • Help information is available in multiple locations, including the dice roller
  • Various cosmetic improvements to the dice roller should boost usability
  • Login page includes links to product information and the store
  • PF2 - Signature spells on the Play tab will prompt for what level spell slot to expend when casting them.
  • PF2 - Display order of spells on the Play tab is configurable, sorting either by their current heightened level or their base level. (Note that we intentionally don't include sorting of cantrips in this mode, which are always considered heightened).
  • PF2 - The TEML line for untrained weapons and armor appears in red as a reminder.
  • PF2 - If encumbered or overburdened, a reminder of this will appear in the Wealth & Bulk section on gear tabs.
  • PF2 - Column headers on the Skills table will highlight with an appropriate validation color when they have either too many or not enough selections.
  • PF2 - While gear is suspended, a button appears at the bottom of the Offenses section of the Combat block on the Play tab that provides direct access to suspended weapons.
  • PF2 - Newly created weapons listed as using "1+" hands (which is the case for most bows) will default to being held in 2 hands when they are created. This way, someone with a longbow gets an error message if they try to equip a shield, but you can still decrease the number of hands holding the longbow if you need to pick up a melee weapon for a while.
  • PF2 - Most equipment now displays its HP and Broken Threshold in its stats.
  • PF2 - Rather than have separate entries for megafauna animal companions, these are now just built by creating a normal animal companion and selecting the Indomitable choice when you gain the Incredible Companion feat (or equivalent) and would normally select the Nimble or Savage advancement. Existing megafauna ancestries have been switched to their base versions.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where folder option menus would get cut off on the select character screen if there weren't any characters.
  • Fixed slight row height change that could occur when toggling a checkbox on or off
  • Fixed checkboxes and radio buttons linked to server side data not visually updating immediately when clicked, instead of waiting for the full round trip server response.
  • Fixed the character name above the left-hand navigation pane not updating when a character's name was edited
  • Fixes right side background artwork sometimes not loading (including after refreshing the browser page)
  • Fixed items with no description text showing an empty "Description" section in their details.
  • Removed redundant "Characters" button in the app header when selecting a game system, as you need to select a game system before showing characters for that game.
  • Removed redundant display of the count of items added to a table when it is collapsed and already shows the total count out of the total
  • Portrait images in the uploaded portrait gallery are now displayed in a consistent order instead of a random order
  • PF2 - Fixed an issue when adding existing ammo to a weapon. After selecting the existing ammo, closing the topmost dialog window would close the underlying dialog too, preventing easy access to checking the newly-moved ammo as "loaded".
  • PF2 - Fixed NPCs showing the PC ability scores table in addition to the one for NPCs.
  • PF2 - Armor was not becoming an invested item once runes were added to it.
  • PF2 - The "Support" abilities for animal companions were still using the playtest name of "Work Together".
  • PF2 - While using the optional rule to allow non-human half-elves and half-orcs, the warning to make sure the user still considers their choice was not set as GM Permission, so it was not behaving correctly for the validation severity filtering.
  • SR6 - Characters who can summon spirits or compile sprites would not see the Minion group on the play tab to let them summon/compile during play unless they had at least one minion added already.

Bonus content! Figured we'd get some extra bug fixes in since we had a hotfix to do anyways.

2021-12-23 Hotfix
  • PF2 - A summoner was not getting the correct number of spells in their spell repertoire.
  • PF2 - Mountain stance was applying a status bonus, not an item bonus.
  • PF2 - If a character was trained in more than one spellcasting tradition, all of that character's spells were using the highest proficiency level among those traditions instead of that of the spell's associated tradition.
  • PF2 - The spells added by the Gnome feat Natural Illusionist were not being sorted as their correct level in the innate spells list.
  • PF2 - Many attacks on monsters were including trait information in their names
  • PF2 - Signature spells on the Play tab were showing spell slot trackers of lower than their base level.
  • PF2 - When customizing the movement speeds of an NPC, they were limited to a max of 99 - this has been increased to 900.
  • PF1 - Several places where the user should make a choice (such as a half-orc or half-elf choosing an ability score to boost and the skill focus feat choosing a feat) were not showing a control to allow the user to make that choice.
  • When creating a character, fixed the Character Type menu options being unreadable in some browsers, due to recent browser changes.
  • Added a link to video walkthroughs to the login page
