Hi all -
I was happy and fine with HL and PF versions and using ShadowChemosh's adjustments. I went to GameX2011 and had a blast and came back and installed the latest updates. Now I can't even find my images. I can't even open up my 'characters' because of the update invalidated so much user info (but I thought I only allowed SC's general adjustments).
So what do I do? I'm looking forward to making Moby an official Staff Magus and updating to anything else that I can. But I can't seem to find a 'how-to' - which seeing that I'm a somewhat experienced user I should have been able to figure out on my own. But alas I cannot. When I get to use the newest HL, then I'll try to figure out the new character sheet designs - and maybe make one that I prefer to use.
I also saw SC's post on d20pfsrd.com about the files being moved from their old position to their newest. When that was done - all my images were 'deleted' or moved.

From the HL manual about where 3.7 puts its stuff.

By default, Hero Lab keeps its files in three places. They are:
  • Install Folder – Where Hero Lab is installed. By default, this will be something like "C:\Program Files\Hero Lab". You pick this when you install the product.
  • Program Data Folder – Where Hero Lab keeps its data files. This will be something like "C:\ProgramData\Hero Lab" on Windows 7, or "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Hero Lab" on Windows XP/Vista.
  • User Data Folder – This is different for each windows user, and will typically be something like "My Documents\Hero Lab" (note that "My Documents" is a different folder for each windows user).
The images are stored with the User Data folder or My Documents now. So if you use File->Open from inside of HL you will be able to get to your characters(ie .por files) but the "Recent" links will be broken.

The last thing is from inside of HL in the Tools->Explore Folders (or something like that not near HL) you can have HL open up the different locations in Windows Explore so you can see where they are stored.

I found my images and such.
But I've had an issue with loading the program. I get all the normal errors saying that X is invalid because X is no longer a thing. All the adjustments that SC provides seems to be invalidated - which is OK. But since HL resets everything and says that I cannot check/uncheck non-HL official things, I don't know where and what things to modify.
Additionally, if I had a Magus in the Beta testing - but now he's a Staff Magus Archetype, is it better just to redo the whole character from level one (basically copying everything off the character sheet) - hoping I add in the right purchases and uses in the end. Or can I just update the character to the new Archetype making adjustments as needed?
Am I going to have to do this with all my characters - even with those that are not using anything out of the play test of UM?
Thanks for your help.
Next to read the forums about character sheets. Or at least after I figure out the latest update.

The normal errors? Um errors are never normal LOL. If you get errors when starting pathfinder then HL goes into safe mode and does not load any .user files. Then if you load a character that uses those .user files then you get more errors.

My guess is that you don't have UM yet and you do have my concentration skill add on? This can cause issues as the .user file is looking for the magus. See this post for more info.

If that is not the error then you will have to give more detailed info about the error you are getting.
