Hello all,
I'm attempting to build new AB data files for a new system, though the system has a few things that I haven't been able to verify that AB could do. If someone can verify for me that AB can do these, I'd be appreciated.

1) Base army cost = 50pts, but when you ad a commander that commander is not only Free but also includes (Free points) only to be used on a specific type of unit. Also, using these free points can take the army above it's "base cost". Different commanders have different pree points values.

Thanks for the info.

There's a way to automatically add things to all rosters - perhaps add a placeholder thing that costs 50, and then gets the global sum of commander free points, and the global sum of points the free points could apply to, and subtracts the maximum of the two values from its own cost?

I don't remember the details, but you may be able to create a roster-wide script that does the same thing without having to add the unit.

OKay, maybe I'm being a little vague. the Game is WarMachine MkII. the Army leaders (Warcasters) now come with a bonus of "Army Points" that can only be used on "WarJacks". when WarJacks are added to the army it's points are initially deducted from the Warcaster's bonus Points, and once those run out the remaining points from Warjacks are deducted from the Army total.

Now it would seem that I would be able to write a script where the Warjack cost would be deducted from a hidden tag and once that tag reaches 0 the rest of the points are deducted from the Army total.

Does that sound like something that could work?

I figured out what game you were asking about. Like I said, each warcaster has an armypoints stat that is globally summed, and each warjack's cost is added to a second globally summed stat. Then, the script running on the dummy item or the roster as a whole calculates, given how many army points are available, and how many points were spent on warjacks, what discount to apply to the whole roster's cost.

I appreciate all your info (unfortunatly it's not making a whole lot of sense right now, a little, just not a whole lot) But Once I get some units in place and looking how I want them to, I will come back and revisit this functionality since I'm not great at writing scripts.
