Real quick -- is it possible to make a magical double weapon such that either end has different powers? There's a checkbox for "same powers", but unchecking that doesn't seem to allow a customizable second side.

Unfortunately, this is not currently possible. It is on the to-do list, but at a fairly low priority.

I run into this problem when I was trying to create a version of the Staff of Parlathan from Dragon Age II
Lo, there do I see my Father.. Lo, there do I see my Mother And my Sisters and my Brothers.. Lo, there do I see the line Of my people back to the beginning.. Thay do bid me to take my place among them.. In the Halls of Valhalla, Where the Brave may live forever. |

Wouldnt this be against the Paizo rules? I know in D&D double weapons were considered two distinct weapons, but from all I can find in Pathfinder it appears to be a double weapon is a single entity.

creating two weapons when determining cost, time, and special abilities." Core Rule Book pg. 551 How I read this is each "head" of a double weapon is treated as a seperate weapon and thus I would believe you could have different special abilties on each head of a double weapon. Of course I could be wrong, would not be the first time. :-) |
