The purpose of this thread is to solicit suggestions for what information you'd like to see added and/or organized/presented differently within the character sheet output for PF2. You'll find separate threads for each game system, so please limit your feedback to PF2 in this thread.

PLEASE NOTE! We are not planning to make character sheets customizable in the near future, nor are we planning to make drastic changes at this time. So please focus on improvements within the current general framework within this thread - i.e. things we can hopefully address in relatively short order.

Thanks!

Not sure if it's within the scope of "no drastic changes", but I'd really like the ability to output a character sheet in the official Paizo format. Finding character info would be much easier in the familiar, standard format. Plus it just looks good imo : )

A fixed character sheet has some major limitations. For example, what about a character with 4 lore skills? There are only three slots. What about a character with more weapons than there are slots? Or spells? Or whatever else?

Then there are big empty spaces for characters that don't have a use for a particular aspect. Fighters don't much need spells. Wizards don't need a bunch of weapon slots. Etc.

I'm NOT saying the character sheet is bad in ANY way whatsoever. I'm saying it has major limitations and will consistently fail for many of the characters that HLO users run. In each of those cases, users will expect us to "do the right thing" - whatever that is. And handling all those cases will be a huge time sink that everyone will probably have wildly differing opinions on.

We wrestled with this exact problem more than a decade ago with HLC and settled on using our own adaptive format. Is it perfect? Not at all. Does it address all the exceptions cleanly? Yes, it does.

One of the things we've got planned is the ability to "export" a character. This will be part of our interface with VTTs and also be a resource for users to write their own character sheet transforms if they want. At that point, there will be a means for users to accomplish what you're seeking.

I'd definitely like to see shield HP and BT information, as well as Class DCs.

Looking forward to it.

In the meantime, things that are missing from the current pdf output include:
-Class DC
-spell attack bonus & spell DC (currently these are included in the full spell descriptions for spells that use them, but would be nice to have on the main sheet for reference, since it's the same number for every spell)
-weapon & armor proficiencies
-shield hardness & HP
-gear descriptions

Spell DC and Spell Attack #'s for reference. Do we really need large pictures of our PC's can that shrink a little and free up more space. Better Spell Organization, can't tell how it is putting spells in now, they seem to just be put in randomly. Book and Page Reference for each spell. [CRB p. 316, LOGM p. 107]

Perhaps if the format of the sheet followed the same layout as the character sheet in the book, expanding for the extra information. Having the actual stats in very tiny print with the modifiers being huge in block is a very odd choice for example.

Ancient One did a custom sheet on HLC that had a selection to be the regular Paizo sheet instead of his layout. (He also had a stat block choice) I am sure it can be done similarly in this App.

My wife is visually impaired; which she has a large monitor for her PC, for actual game time she relies on a high-magnification headband and the PDF character sheets printed to paper. While she's not happy with the amount of fine print on the standard sheet, she considers the spell sheet particularly less than helpful, to the point that she started with our first party by modifying the PDF output, and with the second party has gone to producing her own sheet in Word.

Besides the general lack of organization, she is frustrated that spells do not always include full descriptions, do not list the explicit value/effect for the level slot it is in (the die roller knows, so we know HLO does), do not indicate Signature Spells, and do not distinguish sources such as staves, wands and other items from personal spells from classes and feats.

Attached is her current character's homemade spell sheet as an example of what she wants. (The "Spellbook" references are from the Arcane Evolution class feat, which is not properly supported in HLO but that's a separate issue).

An export for Fantasy Grounds format would be de-lightful!
