Greetings!

I purchased Hero Lab at GenCon to use for 4e character generation. I've entered my license code and downloaded the 4e content using my D&DI account. However, there are some issues. The two most obvious are:

1) It says that I'm only in demo mode. I've gone through the license activation more than once, just to be sure. Since I specifically asked for a license to use with 4e, what's up? Why am I in "demo mode"?

2) Even though the "notes" on the 4e data say that it includes everything up to the Divine Power update from August, I'm only given the original eight PHB character classes as choices when building a character.

There may be other issues, but those are the two most frustrating, and I'm too tired to mess with it any more tonight.

I would appreciate some guidance on how to proceed.

-Thomas

Try running the .exe in admin mode. Go to explorer and run it from there.

My login is the Admin (I know, bad idea...). So that can't be it.

Thanks for the thought, though.

Have you tried to activate your license manually?

Yes. And I just re-tried again to be sure. It tells me that the license has been unlocked for this computer, and will be in effect the next time I run the program. It then offers to re-run it for me. I say yes, and then we're back to being in demo mode for 4e once it's loaded again.

Any other thoughts?

Sorry, nope. I'm out of ideas. I had a few problems initally as well but they worked themselves out. You didn't by chance selec a different game system when you installed the product? I would try all of the different game system to see if one is not in demo mode.

You've nailed it. Some how it will only work with d20 3.5.

Since that isn't what I wanted, is there a way to reset it so that it will work with 4e?

Ah, well glad we found the problem at least. Although a Lone Wolf person would need to help you with changing the module you received. Sorry about that.
