Specifics of Gifting HL

So I was gonna buy Hero Lab for all my players this year (I'm sick of the one guy who still uses manually-created sheets never having references for what his character can do ). I just wanna make sure that gifting works the way I expect it to. Specifically:

CRITICAL DETAIL #2 At this time, add-ons cannot be purchased for gift licenses. Sorry!

This means that you can't buy add-ons as a gift, for somebody else's license, right? Not that the person who receives HeroLab as a gift can't ever buy add-ons in the normal way for their own account? Because I suspect at least one of my players may want to buy additional systems down the track.
