How do I add a viper as a Wizard familiar? It's not shown in the list of familiars, even when I use "Everything" in the Race list on the familiar.

(I've already submitted this as a bug to LW)

Did you mean "Snake, Viper"? Under Configure Hero, it's listed in the "Bestiary Familiars" source. See if that's enabled.

(Viper is one of the choices in the Core Rulebook, so it should be available whether or not you own the Bestiary. I just don't know if you need HL's Bestiary for that Source.)

Thank you. I became available when I enabled Bestiary Familiars. I'm leaving the bug ticket open as it should be available without the additional resource needed, as you mentioned.

The "Bestiary Familiars" option is free to all users, but for the cases where the core rulebook only identifies the bonus that familiar gives, but does not give the stats you would need to know the AC or attacks for that familiar, we decided to put those inside a source, so that GMs had the option to forbid them. However, most people using a "core-only" campaign should not turn this setting off - most GMs would consider that to be closely related to CRB content.
