Version 6.13 of the Pathfinder files for Hero Lab is now available from the automatic updates mechanism within Hero Lab.

This update adds Distant Worlds to the existing Campaign Setting #7 package and adds Pirates of the Inner Sea to the existing Player's Companion: Golarion #2 package.

This update also adds player content from Pathfinder #54 and fixes quite a number of bugs.

Here's the complete change list, copied from the FAQ:

New Releases!
  • Content from Pirates of the Inner Sea is now available in the Player's Companion: Golarion #2 package.
  • Content from Distant Worlds is now available in the Campaign Setting #7 package.
Enhancements & Changes
  • Hovering over manuevers shown in the Basics summary tabs now displays a description of that maneuver.
  • Custom Scrolls, Potions, and Wands now show additional information on the item's description, including names, save type & DC, and the spell's summary description.
  • Added player content from Pathfinder #54, Tide of Honor.
Bug Fixes
  • The Gorum's Armor spell was listed twice.
  • The Craft (Armor) skill was listed twice.
  • The Demonic Boon feat was missing the prerequisites.
  • Fixed a display issue on the "Class Special Abilities" form that caused some class abilities (for example, the later Magus abilities) to be displayed with cut-off text.
  • Miscellaneous Bonuses to Armor Class were not being inherited up to the Defense attribute when the "Armor as DR" optional rule was enabled. This resulted in Monks not getting their untyped bonuses to Defense, among other things.
  • Communal Spells for the Alchemist were not requiring the Infusion discovery as a pre-requisite.
  • If a magic item took up multiple magic item slots, there were circumstances that could lead to the item not reporting an error when some, but not all of its slots were also used by other magic items the character was wearing.
  • Fixed a display issue on the "Class Special Abilities" form that caused some class abilities (for example, the later Magus abilities) to be displayed with cut-off text.
  • The first level ability of the Tactics Domain had a typo in its name. It is now correctly spelled "Seize".
  • The Extra Hex feat was not available to Hexcrafter Magi.
  • The Hexcrafter archetype was lacking an ability stating when Hexes of various power are gained and what ability that replaces.
  • The Dog, Guard minion was available twice, the version from the Adventurer's Armory has been renamed "Dog, Combat Trained" as it appears in that book.
  • The Black Blooded Template was not increasing the CR of creatures by +1.
  • The Ability Focus feat now narrows the selection list to only abilities with DCs.
  • The Greater Shield Specialization feat was assigning an incorrect tag to it's selection, resulting in an incorrect error message saying Shield Specialization taken twice for the same thing.
  • The Wounding weapon power had an obsolete description.
  • The Favored Enemy feat's summary has been rewritten to be more helpful.
  • The Halfling Slinger feat was not functioning for the Double, Staff, or Stitched Slings.
  • The Wings Alchemist discovery was missing the 6th level pre-requisite.
  • The Vivisectionist Alchemist Archetype was bootstrapping spells into the spellbook at 1st level, rather than at higher levels as appropriate.
  • The Vivisectionist's Cruel Anatomist class ability was functioning at 1st level, rather than at 3rd.
  • The Reanimator, Clone Master and Psychonaut archetypes were missing the tag that stated it modified the Bomb ability, meaning it could be taken with other archetypes that replaced that ability.
  • The Psychonaught Alchemist Archetype was bootstrapping spells into the spellbook at 1st level, rather than at higher levels as appropriate.
  • The Barbarian's Disruptive and Spellbreaker rage powers were bootstrapping the feats without a tag to have them skip pre-requisites. As a result, the feats would generate a validation error when the hero raged. Thanks to Bishop37 for donating this fix.
  • The Holy Gun Paladin Archetype's Have Gun ability grants the Amatuer Gunslinger feat. Normally when a character gains gunslinger levels they can delete that feat and add Extra Grit in it's place, but since the class ability bootstrapped it users can't delete it. Now the class ability bootstraps the Amatuer Gunslinger or Extra Grit deed as appropriate. Thanks to Bishop37 for donating this fix.
  • The Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Firearms) feat could be added multiple times, now it can only be added once. Thanks to Bishop37 for donating this fix.

  • The Hanbo weapon from Adventurer's Armory was missing the tags marking it as a Monk and Trip Weapon.
  • The Combat Scabbard weapons have been updated to have a threat range of 20 (instead of 18-20) in accordance with eratta.
  • The Klar weapon was missing a tag stating what kind (i.e. melee, thrown, etc) of weapon it is, resulting in it not displaying an attack bonus. It is now marked as a Melee weapon and will show a melee attack bonus.
  • The Madu, Leather weapon was had an incorrect price of 30 gp (it has been corrected to 40 gp).
  • The Throwing Shield power had an incorrect price of 20 gp (it has been corrected to 50 gp).
  • The Thassilonian Specialist Wizard archetype was not granting 2 specialized spell slots, or enforcing that they be the same spell.
  • The Boon Companion feat has been updated to affect Rangers and other classes with reduced level Animal Companion/Familiars.
  • The Wraith race was missing an Energy Drain special and description text.
  • The Master of Many Styles archetype was unique in that its bonus feats ignored only certain pre-requisites, you had to have the Elemental Fist and any earlier Style feats if you wanted to take a later Style Chain feat. Hero Lab was not enforcing this and allowing users to skip over and take the ending feat for each style chain. Corrected such that only valid (under the limited definition of the archetype) feats in the chain are displayed for selection.
  • The Xill race's claw attack was becoming secondary when weapons are equipped, despite the text of it's multiweapon mastery.
  • The Bone and Dragonhide materials could be applied to armors for which they were invalid.
  • The True Primitive Barbarian archetype was not granting proficiency with Bone armor.
  • The goddess Sivanah was incorrectly marked as not available for Pathfinder Society Play.
  • The Sawtooth Sabre has been updated to the latest version (from Inner Sea World Guide), and now counts as Light for the purposes of Two Weapon Fighting only (and not for weapon finesse or other things).
  • The Roaring Drunk Rage power had incorrect description text (that of the Liquid Courage power).
  • Several spells in the core had incorrect Target text, with "or Area" and "or Targets" prepended.
  • The Elemental Body spells were showing DCs incorrectly.
  • The Rage Domain was missing its 9th level domain spell, Implosion.
  • The Ferocious Tenacity feat had an incorrect pre-req so that Orcs did not qualify for the feat.
  • The Boots of Friendly Terrain only allowed the selection of Favored Terrains that a ranger currently had.
  • The Eval Script that generated the damage text for bombs was not taking into account any modifiers to damage. Thus it was failing to show damage effects from Point Blank Shot (among other things).
  • Added a field to the Haunt Siphon Wondrous Item for the user to specify Info on charged/not/what haunt is within/whatever.
  • The changeling race was showing the Common language twice, instead of getting common and one extra slot for the parent race.
  • The Antipaladin's Plaguebringer ability was not bootstrapping the Immunity to Disease ability correctly, the condition was looking for 3 paladin levels. Also changed the Plaguebringer ability to show on the Specials tab and note in the summary that can still carry diseases and infect others.
  • The Visions of Hell spell was listed twice.
  • The Draconic Disciple prestige class had an error in the pre-reqs, it was not requiring the Draconic Bloodline if the character had sorcerer levels.
  • The Diabolist prestige class was not adding other class levels to the imp companion correctly.
  • Custom Scrolls/Potions/Wands were only displaying the names of their component spells in the description, without any further information and without any spaces (i.e. StabilizeDrenchEnhanced Diplomacy). Custom items will now display the name and Summary for each spell on them.
  • The Ranger's favored enemy and favored terrains are now available as adjustments.
  • The Shapeshifting Hunter feat has been implemented.
  • The Glabrezu race incorrectly had the Change Shape racial ability.
  • The Contingent Channeling feat was missing a pre-req for the True Healer ability.
  • The Bracelet of Mercy's pre-requisite was not detecting the Mercy class ability of Clerics with the Merciful Healer archetype.
  • The Dragon Shaman druid archetype was not replacing Venom Immunity.
  • The Ring of Force Shield was not gaining an increase to the AC bonus from Shield Focus/Greater Shield Focus.
  • The Cold Ice Strike spell had an incorrect summary, the spell was erattaed to be a Line, but the summary still refered to the old Cone area.
  • The Channel Energy description was still referring to Turn Undead in one section.
  • Monks were doing only half attribute damage when making Unarmed Strikes with their off hand.
  • The Kensai magus archetype's weapon proficiency was not functioning correctly with the Aldori Dueling Sword.
  • The Pot, iron's weight has been decreased 10 to 4 lbs and price increased from 5 sp to 8 sp.
  • The Pole, 10 ft's price decreased from 2 sp to 5 cp.
  • The Alchemist Lab's price decreased from 500 gp to 200 gp.

Bug Fixes, Continued
  • The Bottle, wine (glass) was renamed to Bottle, glass as shown in the core rulebook, weight increased from 0 to 1 lb.
  • The Ladder, 10 ft's price decreased from 5 sp to 2 sp.
  • The Lock (Very simple) was renamed to Lock (Simple) as shown in the core rulebook,
  • The Flowing Monk archetype was not replacing Fast Movement.
  • The wooden stake weapon was incorrectly marked as a 1 handed weapon, rather than a light one.
  • The Detect Evil/Good/Law/Chaos spells were missing summaries.
  • The Bane spell adjustment was missing.
  • The Legend Lore spell had the Material component text mixed in with the focus, and the description was incorrect.
  • The Carpet of Flying had an incorrect description, switching the weights of Type II and Type III and none of the versions had any weight when added to the hero.
  • According to the online faq, the following Gods from the Inner Sea World Guide are now allowed for Pathfinder Organized play: Gyronna, Hanspur, Sivanah.
  • According to the online faq, the following Demon Lords from the Inner Sea World Guide are now allowed for Pathfinder Organized play: Abraxas, Angazhan, Baphomet, Cyth-V'sug, Dagon, Deskari, Gogunta, Kostchtchie, Nocticula, Orcus, Pazuzu, Shax, Socothbenoth, Zura.
  • The Boiling Blood spell adjustment was incorrectly adding Darkvision (30 ft).
  • The Countless Eyes spell adjustment was incorrectly applying the effects of Boiling Blood.
  • The Guided Hand feat was not functioning correctly for weapons that are ranged, adding to the ranged attack bonus twice.
  • The Bane item power was appending the name of the target creature type twice.
  • The Ape animal companion had 2 slams, corrected to have 2 claw attacks. It also had a speed of 0 rather than 30.
  • The Hand of Glory was not bootstrapping the appropriate spells when equipped.
  • Heroes who chose "No Gender" were displaying as female in some outputs.
  • The Charau-Ka's Thrown weapon mastery was not adding +1 to ranged attacks for thrown weapons.
  • The Pinned condition description has been updated with errata (it no longer applies the flat footed condition), and it had not been imposing a -4 AC penalty.
  • The Marilith race's Multiweapon Mastery was not removing penalties for off hand weapons.
  • The Acid Splash appended Power Component description switched the effects of Material vs Focus uses.
  • Regional Traits were not enforcing the limit of one per hero.
  • The Inscribe Magical Tattoo feat was not marked as an Item Creation feat.
  • The Icon of the Midwife had a few typos corrected.
  • The Custom/Magic Meteor Hammers could not be used in fortress mode to grant a shield bonus to AC. The shield was also not marked as part of the Ultimate Combat Source.
  • The Unarmed Fighter archetype was not granting proficiency in all Monk weapons.
  • The Tiger Fork had no tags stating what proficiency it required or what the weapon class is, and was thus displaying as a siege weapon.
  • The Vulpine Pounce feat was not marked as a combat feat.
  • The Goblin Sorcerer favored class was missing a tag. That caused it not to be shown on the In-Play tab, meaning the level of spells added could not be adjusted.
  • The Bag of Tricks item was updated to the current rules, recieving CL, school, updated description, and price increases.
  • The Bead of Force item was updated to the current rules, recieving CL, school, updated description. In addition it needed a tag to give further information on a spell.
  • The Belt of Dwarvenkind item was updated to the current rules, recieving CL, school, updated description. In addition the way it was determining when to add the racial abilities was also incorrect.
  • The Boots of Elvenkind item was updated to the current rules, recieving CL, school, updated description.
  • The Boots of Levitation item was updated to the current rules, recieving CL, school, updated description. In addition it needed a tag to give further information on a spell.

  • The Orc Bloodline was granting Wall of Fire as a 3rd level spell rather than a 4th level spell, and was adding 1 extra to Natural Armor at all levels.
  • The Familiars were being affected by limited animal companion lists (such that ranger/wizards and other combos had no valid familiar choices).
  • The Sepia ellipsoid ioun stone was incorrectly marked as a cursed item.
  • The Holy Vindicator's Stigmata effects were throwing a validation error when any single one were activated stating that you couldn't have multiple active.
  • The Language Subdomain was giving Share Language as a 1st level domain spell, instead of 2nd.
  • The Temple Membership vanity was not correctly priced, reduced from 6 to 4 PP.
  • The White Haired Witch archetype was not calculating the intelligence damage for the Hair weapon.
  • The Crowcaller weapon was mistakenly being treated as a battleaxe, rather than a greataxe.
  • The Eagle race had an incorrect space and reach.
  • The Ghost Step Ninja trick had a typo in its pre-reqs.
  • Alternate Racial Traits taken for a race were not reporting an error upon switching to a different race.
  • Fixed the details of many spells from Ultimate Combat
Data File Authoring

  • Added the "Helper.NatIgnWeap" tag, bootstrapping a Natural attack with this tag renders it immune to the effects of having a weapon equipped. That is, it will remain a primary attack with weapons. This is used for the Xill's claw attack and certain special abilities (Constrict, Rend, and Trample).
  • Added the "Helper.TwoWpLight" tag, weapons with this tag count as Light for two weapon fighting but not for any other purpose. This is used for the updated version of the Sawtooth Sabre.
  • Added the "Helper.NoHalfStr" tag, weapons with this tag do Str modifier damage even when equipped in the off hand. This is similar to Double Slice but can be applied to only certain weapons (rather than globally to all weapons). It is currently used for Monks with their Unarmed Strikes.
  • Added the "wAttMelee" field, which adds to melee attacks. This stacks with the wAttBonus field (which adds to both melee and ranged attacks).
