I only just bought the DND5 files so I don't think I've worked out all the kinks yet, but...
I couldn't select skill proficiencies as a rogue but I figured out the workaround of 'don't have background or personality proficiency selected' but now that I have those picked, when I enable background proficiency again, it disables all of my proficiencies instead of adding two new ones. I gain proficiency in Perception from both the background and being an Elf, and the book says dupe background proficiencies can be swapped out for an equivalent type (skill or tool) but I can't find anywhere to do that. Yes, I have the community file; no, none of them are checked except for PHB. |

I've run into a similar issue with not being able to select the skill for any of my classes. I've installed the community file and purchased the 5e licence. I duplicated the issue with the herobuilder after uninstalling the community pack.
Is this a known issue or is there a work around? I even checked the class builds with the editor. it shows that i should have the options to pick skills. |

I believe the way to go about this, or at least this is what I've figured out, is to add the skill proficiencies as a permanent adjustment under the Personal tab. Hope that helps

That's a great idea! Thanks!
Should have thought of that, I use those all the time in Shadowrun |

Have you gone to the Character tab > Configure Hero and checked off the options you want to use?
