I have no idea what happened, but I closed Hero Lab the other day, reloaded it today and all my Community Pack files are missing. I tried re-downloading them and re-installing them, but every time I start HL, all my 5e community options are still missing. Thoughts on what I can do to get them to appear again? I'm on a Macbook.

I have to assume you are getting some type of error on 5e game load. Once that happens HL goes into safe mode and will NOT load anything.
Right click on the error window and copy/paste the error here. Though most likely issue is you have your own .user files that have issues that need to be fixed. Yeah it's not able to load a Ranger Variant I was working on. Mac's don't seem to that the Right Click + Copy option that I do on my Windows machine. I'm going to see if there's a way to delete the Variant and then try to load it.

Okay it looks like that did it. Thank you very much. I guess my next step is to actually fully learn the system to create my own class variants with all the proper new skills and hooks into the base system. Any idea where I might find tutorials on that? Thus far, I've been able to successfully create magic items and some new class spells. The only other problem is that I have to load them all from my personal item save file or they never appear on my character sheets.

The help menu from the editor takes you to the formal doco.
Most of us recommend making copies of pre existing things that you are trying to make just to see how they are done. You can learn alot that way. |
