We're currently working on getting the data for this set from Wizards of
the Coast. They haven't posted a full spoiler list on their site yet, so we're navigating their organization to get the data directly. We hope to have the data in hand very soon, and once we do we'll get it turned around as fast as we can. Thanks, Brian At 11:07 AM 6/17/2005, you wrote: >Any sort of update on this?[/i] > > > __________________________ Brian Mitchell Director of Sales & Marketing Lone Wolf Development Phone/Fax: 253-447-4979 email: brian@wolflair.com |

Try http://gatherer.wizards.com
Leave the first two columns blank, In the third column, in the top box, choose the name of the set you need a spoiler for . Leave the lower box of the third column blank. In the fourth column select "text spoiler view" where it says select output type. Click the button in the "go" column - it will generate a spoiler of the set for you. Doesn't list artist or card number in that view, but gives you everything else you'd need. Other views can be set that will give you that info as well. gatherer.wizards.com is clearly public-accessible. There's links to it all over www.magicthegathering.com. Should be safe to use for data files. Looking forward to the saviors data file being ready. |

Hows the status of this data file coming? I am also waiting for the data file to include 9th edition.. got 2 full booster boxes to input to card valut and would like to get caught up.
I only ask because I've searched the net and other CCG deck builders, etc already have the data files built for Saviors and for 9th Edition for their customers. |

We are still working to get files from WotC. Their last communication with
us indicated that it could be as late as early next week before we see data from them. Since this is a new data exchange process for us and for them, we are anticipating some extra coding time to deal with whatever format they give us for the data. Despite the delays for these two sets, once we get this sorted out for Saviors and 9th, the payoff should be much more timely Magic data files going forward. Thanks for bearing with us as we get things hashed out. Brian At 10:23 AM 8/4/2005, you wrote: >Hows the status of this data file coming? Another deadline slipped ...
My CV license has expired, and I have no plans to renew it until Saviors and 9th Edition are online. |

I've noticed a lot of army builder updates.... Where are we on this data file guys? Almost 2 weeks later of 9th edition has came out. Others have aready updated their data files, why is it so slow for card vault? It seems as it is not as important as army builder from the progress of the programs and data files so far...
I dont know why the excuse is with Wotc, when other people already have their data files completed... |

We've been working with Wizards of the Coast for the better part of two
months, trying to secure data for Saviors and 9th Edition that is in a usable format for us to convert to a Card Vault data file. Unfortunately, after multiple inquiries made to a number of WotC staffers, the best they could come up with after two months was the same data that is available on Gatherer. Gatherer currently supplies the data we need across several different spoiler lists, none of which are suitable for this task. Until we have assurance from WotC that we will be able to receive a single, usable, consistent source of data on a timely basis, we cannot move forward on the development of data files for Magic: the Gathering. We are as dissatisfied as you and other CV users with the current state of affairs, and we continue to work with WotC to obtain all the data we need to build the data file. As soon as the situation changes, we will not hesitate to post an update to this forum. I appreciate the difficulties you appear to be having with Wizards. However is there any way there can be some form of update for the Magic files - even if this is an intermediate update without some of the detail. I play in a lot of Magic tournaments and have successfully used Card Vault in the past to keep track of new decks and versions/tweaks to existing decks. For the Kamigawa block constructed season I have had to revert to manual processes due to the lack of timely Saviours data. This has not been an enjoyable experience. Reading between the lines of your latest message, I am now concerned that updates are going to be late or non-existent in the short/ medium term. I am now seriously looking at other alternatives as I do not like the thought of utilising a manual deck development process, for the new standard format, when Ravnica comes out (in preparation for Champs). I am also not sure how much longer I can manually manage my inventory - I now have two sets being maintained separately on spreadsheets (SoK and 9th). Whilst I realise Magic is not the only CCG that Card Vault supports, it must be one of the more popular. I am in a quandary - as I have been a long time supporter of your excellent product - but now I cannot use it to support my Magic playing. I am reasonably sure that there are similar people in the same position (please speak up in this forum if so!). If you can do anything to provide even basic listings for the two outstanding sets it will be appreciated. I understand that the problem is not necessarily one of your own making - but it is having a negative impact on some of your customers. Regards K |
