I can't speak to ever, but the issue with custom content that the servers for HLO are a shared resource, so everyone's content would be in the same location and if anyone had anything that didn't compile the engine would fail for everyone. That's my understanding of the core issue at least. There might be more that I'm not recalling as well though.
