I use the Personal Tab, and Background Details specifically, to track the build for when things were taken.
You could create a Journal entry, on the Journal tab, to have a digitally saved tracking of what was taken and when.
Either method is a "hack" on the users part, as HL doesn't do this for us, but it still accomplishes what you want.
