    Alternate Ability rolls

    Hello... My dm uses an alternate rolling scheme for higher powered characters. So my ability scores are higher than normal. I can't seem to self assign beyond a predetermined(?) score. Is there a way around this...aside from playing a rules-legal character? thanks in advance.
