"Disp" attribute future?

Is the intention that the "disp" attribute will at some point have a no
display option as well as its current "noprint"? If so, what is the
possible time line(a near or long term addition)?

If you dont want to see a unit, use the external Unit
attribute "hide". Am I misunderstanding what you're trying to do?

Cheers,
Russell.

"Disp" attribute future?

I am wanting to hide a child unit thats only purpose is to divert cost from
the parents comp group using the forc attribute. It doesn't need to be
visible.

"Disp" attribute future?

I considered adding that ability to "disp" when I first implemented it, but
it was a fair bit of work to do that and I couldn't think of a good way
that anyone could put it to use. So I dropped it. It's definitely a
possibility for the future, but I'll need to hear a good way to utilize it.
:-)

Also, my current focus is on a new product idea before returning back to do
another release of AB, so a significant new feature release of AB is not
going to happen real soon. There will likely be a V2.3 in before the end of
the year that adds a few things, but nothing major.

Thanks, Rob

"Disp" attribute future?

So you don't want a "disp" that allows print-only units, you want a "disp"
that completely hides the unit from the user. It that correct?

That's an interesting idea. I *CAN* envision a few uses for that. I'll put
it on the todo list, but I'm not sure how much work is involved, so no
promises. :-)

Thanks, Rob

correct! This is in regards to the discussion about item cost being rolled
into parent, see your message 4940.

Thanks!

Ah now I understand - hide isn't for you. Time to defer to Rob on
this one :-) Perhaps there's another way of achieving what you want?

Cheers,
Russell.
