Call for help! (also new files release :~)
 
hi! first i have released new files with bug fixes and stuff like cursed company, rhinox cavalry, etc etc etc etc

secondly. while the files are up to date with "official" material - the things in army books - they are behind in things like optional units, some special characters etc etc. i am going to post a threadin a minute that compiles a lits of all the ones still to be added, because there are so many i have lots track of them :~(

so. i need YOUR help. i need YOU to help get the optional things added, like the special characters and so on. please help! if you want, you will need:

1 the rules for the characters
2 the ab constructionkit which you can download

and the initiative to look at things that have already been written, and copy them!

i have asked the lonewolf guys to help people with this, so they will be hereto answer questions about stuff if we need them.

if you will be willing to help, please post her!e the warhammer files need you!!!!!!! :~)

Best thing to do to learn ABC is to read the docs thuroughly that come with it...While you do that wander through various game systems which you play and try to figure out where all of the rules, special abilities and weapons are being placed into the unit...between the two you will have the basics of ABC...
I can completely understand about docs not helping...I was one of the beta testers for 3.0 and am not the kind of person who learns well from books but rather from doing, so one of the two methods (trial and error or reading the docs) should help a lot...

if you want to help, a good way to start is the following

1 download the authoring kit
2 do the abcreator tutorial
3 open the warhammer files and try to make something work!!!

the best way to try is experience...

if you have problems post here abiut them and i will try to answer you!!

Just to avoid duplicating work, I’ve got the following items done or in progress, and will be forwarding them to Robert as they become ready. As you can see I’ve got several projects under way, but my friends keep asking me to add things for them, heh. Anyhow, I’ve got these covered and should have them done before too long. I can also very quickly add other characters that people want – the main thing that takes time is fancy validation and inter-related unit rules like those on the two Dwarfs below.

You could always just "forget" to add those two! :wink:

My work with Gotrek & Felix is almost done. Have a flew issuses.
First: How should I display them? Now they are displayed like list:
Gotrek & Felix (Squad)
- Gotrek & Felix
-- Gotrek
-- Felix

I can get felix to be under gotrek but then I really want both to be under the same squad on the same level.

Seconed: How do you give felix 3/5 attacks? I have tryed to just write it but it just shows 3.

I'm not sure how to get them into the same unit by default (although I'm pretty sure it is possible), but in order to get Felix's attacks to show up correctly, you'll want to set his base attacks to three, and add the two bonus attacks from his magic weapon on the item itself. In the Prelink script for the item, add the line: unit.stat[At] = unit.stat[At] + 2

Now to another problem. How do I prevent/allow armys to take Gotrek & Felix? As it is now, all armys that can take Dogs of War can take Gotrek & Felix, inkluding Chaos. Bretonnia is not alowed to have Dogs of War but they are alowed to have Gotrek & Felix?

Any simple way to solve this?

There sure is. There are two main things that determine when a unit appears and when it doesn’t.

First, make sure you set their race, by giving them the DogsOfWar Tag from the Race Tag Group.

Second, you can use the Membership expression on the unit to exclude them with more detail by specifying all of the rule sets they do not appear in. You can look at Al Muktar's Desert Dogs for a good example of this. To find the names of the rule sets, look in the .aug files for the armies in question, under the Ruleset tab.

Just a note, I managed to come across the same squad issue you were having with Gotrek and Felix when I went to do Vlad and Isabella VanCarstien. I dug and the problem some more, but couldn't figure it out, so I put up the question on the tech support forum. Keep an eye on that for further insight on that issue.

• Added Deathmaster Snikch for Skaven armies
• Added Ikit Claw, Chief Warlock for Skaven armies
• Added Lord Skrolk for Skaven armies
• Added Warlord Queek Head-Taker for Skaven armies
• Added Melkhior for Vampire Counts armies
• Added Vlad and Isabella for Vampire Counts armies
• Added Morbus Sanguis, Plague Lord, for Skaven armies
• Added Castelian Goritch for Skaven armies

New Army Sub Type
• Added the Hellpit army of Skaven Clan Moulder

New Skaven Units
• Warpstone Mutants for use with Klawmunkast
• Warpstone Rat Tank for use with Klawmunkast
• Yellow Plague Rat Swarm option for use with Morbus

Skaven Unit Fixes
• Special Characters are now compatable with Grey Seers

Special Character Fixes
• Klawmunkast is no longer restricted to Skryre armies
• Klawmunkast now validates his special composition rules
• Special characters are now properly flagged as such

• The Black Coach now has a squad name

Other than the two Slayer characters from SoC my list is empty. I'm sure there's lots more we could add, but seems like it would work best if we went from a list of stuff people had requested.

ChainsawXIV: Is there a possibility that you could make the Army of the Cairns not need Kemmler and Krell for Warbands (much like VC don't need a spellcaster)?

Actually, the entire army isn't gearede for Warbands. Would it be possible to do so?

Skaven Unit Fixes
• Verminlord is now compatable with Grey Seers
• Verminlord no longer displays magic item options
• Chimaerat now only shows for Hellpit armies
• The Rat Tank now filters more appropriately
• Hellpit armies now check for compulsory characters
• Non-Hellpit armies no longer require Throt or Gorritch
• Bubonic Court armies now ignore mainstay rules
• Undated Ikit Claw's description regarding validation
• The Warlord's pistol option now validates as such
• Hellpit armies can now properly take two rat swarms
• Hellpit army units now have warband verteran options
• Warbands no longer require Throt or Ghoritch

Vampire Counts Unit Fixes
