Screen Shots

Hello all,

I'm a new user to RW & HL and I'm wondering if anybody has any screen shots they could share of their data entry of their 5e monster Manual. I'm trying to get a visual reference of what goes where. I've watched the Josh Plunkett getting started video but it stopped short of showing me what I was looking for.

Any direction or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

No one is likely to post images of copyrighted material.

The 5e monster category is pretty directly based off the Monster Manual so entering the data should be pretty straight forward.

Yea, not very likely you will get images.

Personally, I created a top level entry called Monsters, under it i created a section for each book (MM, VOLO etc) then under each section i had a section for each letter, or group of letters for the smaller books.

Since i was not coping the entire entry into realm works, I did remove empty snippets on each entry (since you can add them back as needed).

But that is me, YMMV

5e monster entry is fill-in-the-blank for each one.

To organize, you can have one long list. I chose to create A, B, C, etc dividers so I can collapse sections. I also broke NPCs like Commoner, Acolyte, etc into a separate set of alphabetical dividers.

The Mechanics sections are pretty self explanatory. It's the Story sections where you'll find challenges in organizing. Don't be afraid to change your mind and reorganize. RW is pretty forgiving. And there are no wrong ways; just seemingly better ways.

So, since I subscribe to D&D Beyond I have stopped entering monsters into RW. I know this will not be a preferred method for most, but I find the amount of time saved on entry to make it a winner for me. I just hyper link the monster from my scene topic to the DDB site. The drawback: requires internet access, requires a DDB subscription (and purchasing the rights to some books via DDB is pricey), and it means having to jump out of RW during play. Advantages: Access to the huge number of home-brew monsters on DDB, saves me an enormous amount of data entry, and the DDB site is very visually appealing (sorry, but RW has an ugly and outdated UI).

Ugly and outdated is being very kind re: RW interface. Functional, yes. Mostly. But the 1990's look is the biggest turn-off I've heard from others I have mentioned RW to in the past.
