Here's an odd one for you Colen ...
Made a character with a piece of Equipment that gives him Protection 4. He has a Stamina 1. Now, I go to add a Force Field 5 and all it adds is +1 to his Toughness (for a total of 6?). Should be 10 if my algebra is correct ... right?

That's how it's supposed to work. Equipment Bonuses do not typically stack with most other bonuses: see Bonus Stacking under The Limits of Equipment on page 148 of DCA.
