Adding/Modifying Tags (specificallly Classes)

I know I can add classes in the Mechanics area. But those don't show up as Classes available for characters. How can I add to the Tag options so that I can make new classes available to the characters I create?

See this thread. It would be the same thing.

Quick and simple steps...

1. Click on the Manage ribbon bar at the top.
2. Click on the Tags button to customize tags.
3. Click on the Class tag domain in the list on the left.
4. Click the Add Tag button.
5. Enter the tag details.
6. Enter more class tags as you choose.
7. Save your changes.
8. Click the Done button in the upper right.

Now you should be able to find your new tags available for selection and assignment to your NPCs.

Hope this helps!

I assume that the removal of unwanted Tags is tied up in the whole 'delete' complexity. If we do not want them to be available we deselect them on the 'shown' option - Is that correct.

thanks

The reason we don't allow the deletion of unwanted tags is to hedge against content sharing in the future. Let's say you delete built-in TagX. Then another user creates content the uses TagX and shares it. Now you import that shared content. The import would fail if TagX doesn't exist. By simply hiding it, you no longer have to see it in your content, but that doesn't stop you from importing shared content from other users that DO leverage the tag.

This same exact logic applies to why we don't allow users to delete built-in category structure. It needs to be there in case you ever decide to import content from others in the future. So it's simply hidden instead of completely deleted.

Hope this helps!

Rob, say I did hide TagX, then import content that use it, would the tag be unhidden automatically?

Probably not, although we haven't tested this with the Beta team yet. The current plan is that the hidden tag would still be hidden from view whenever you're creating/editing content. However, since if you imported content that referenced it, the tag would properly appear for all content that used it. So it would be hidden except for when it's explicitly referenced.

Hope that makes sense!
