User rname equipment or domain field option
 

So looking over equipment it seems there is no way for a user to rename and item or, what I wanted, the user to purchase an item (say a magic tome) and expose a text field for them to write up a brief note to correspond to the tome. Or a ritual spell scroll that needs a user defined "spell name" attached later.

Is that correct or am I missing something?

For Tome, if you have the Fantasy Companion activated there is a Custom Tome at the top of the Magic Items tab in the Magic Miscellaneous Items list.

But perhaps you are wondering if there is a way if that is not activated. The Gear tab has a Custom Gear that you can specify what it is. Looking in the editor there does not seem to be a "Domain" field. I cannot see a way to have a generic Tome with a fillable Domain.

So you can either use the Custom Magic Tome or a Custom Gear

I do have a request in the requests thread for the ability to do renaming like you can do with Powers on most everything else. It really is useful to have the base thing be what it is but then to be able to rename it to something appropriate for a given setting or character and since we can do it with Powers I figure the capability seems to be there to some extent.

Good idea. You can also name your Trademark Weapon. "Say hello to Vera".
