Choosing skills ... I feel like an idiot

I'm certain I'm missing something but I just can't seem to figure out how to show a skill as being trained. I'm creating a monk and need to choose my two skills. When I go to the skill tab I can't find a way to make the gray circle black to indicate which I'm choosing. Any help would be really, really appreciated

On the hero you're having issues with hit Ctrl-K and scroll down to the Optional Rules section. Make sure that in the Ability Options you don't have Background Proficiency or Personality Trait Proficiency checked as on. Those two options turn off proficiencies gained from background, race and class. (Hint: Right-click an option to see what it does).

That was it! Thank you! I unchecked those and set that to be the default :)

Great, I had the same question and this answered it for me, thank you.

And fortunately it also answered another question I've posted elsewhere so I can go and answer that one as well :-)

I just commented on this issue on anoother posting. :)

Dungeonguru; how many times, in your experience, have those two check boxes cause someone a problem? :)
