Oracle Questions

In Herolabs, I can check the box that I've cast cure XXX wounds, is there any way in the software to do the dice rolls? I've looked around on the PC version and on the ipad version and can't find anything.

As well I cannot find the oracle feat Battlecry in adjustments/conditions/in-play to use on myself. There is a Feat Battle Cry but its effects are different.

Perhaps I've rolled to low on my perception check or am I just missing some data packs?

There's no automatic way to do associated die rolls in Windows Hero Lab, but there is a simple die roller window available under Tools > Show Dice Roller, where you can enter the roll needed, then generate it.

The Oracle Battlecry indeed doesn't seem to have been implemented yet (a lot of the Adjustments end up being added due to volunteer contributions). If you use the bug report form to request it, it might help it move up on the things-to-do list, though.

I had some free time, so I looked at a couple of similar Adjustments and cut and pasted up one for the Oracle Battlecry. It's not that polished comment-wise, but it looks to work properly.

Would you like to donate this adjustment for inclusion in the program?

Oh, most assuredly! Though it probably needs to be brought in line with the presentation standards. :o

Wow!!

I'll try it out. Do I just dump that into the herolab directory?

--- dump file into pathfinder data folder and enabled it via conferred ability adjustment

How would I integrate that into the Ipad herolab or would the devs need to to do that?

See instructions HERE. Or wait until Aaron officially adds it to Pathfinder.

Thank You Sir! Got it imported. Learning many new things every day here.

Doing some testing and it does not seem to modify any of the abilities when check marked to be active. My melee bonus, skills and saves are not being incremented by one, either on ipad or HL. I can post my character if needed.

Do you have something already giving a Morale bonus to melee attack, skills and saves?

No. All conditions and adjustments are clear except for Oracle: Battlecry +1

My fault. :o That's what I get for getting in too much of a hurry. I put in the ability to adjust between the +1 and +2 bonus without properly retesting.

A corrected and properly tested version is attached.

Sorry about that, everyone.

Confirmed works like a charm. Thank you very much charlieluce!

So the only difference was the pAdjust instead of the absolute value?

Is there a link to the XML schema used by HL and how it works? I found their wiki but it didn't seem too friendly.

There's no comprehensive resource that I know of. I have a collection of Editor-related links (mostly topics on the forum) but I've mostly learned by looking at existing examples.

In the case of the Battlecry I had started by doing a fixed +1 bonus, then I realized that I should really account for it eventually going to +2, but I didn't make all the changes I needed properly and I neglected to retest (bad coder! No biscuit!).

On the other hand, once I fixed it I was playing around with it and discovered a bug to report (Androids not being able to gain morale bonuses isn't being enforced) so there was some extra good that came out of the experience.

You don't actually need to know XML to do stuff because they have a GUI editor.

I would recommend reading the Glossary of Terms for the Editor. Then check out FAQ#2 for all the places to learn about the editor including YouTube videos. Welcome to the wonderful world of using the HL editor which will be the most frustrating and rewarding thing you can do with Hero Lab. :)

Thanks Shadow. I'll take a look at those links.

Made a pair of Boots of Striding which we are using in our campaign to so those slow plate wearers can keep up with the others!

Sorry about that, everyone.

Should be in the next release, along with a shout-out in the monthly FAQ. Thanks for the donation.
