Patches without installs or patch notes?
I was doing some data entry on a realm and I noticed that a bug I found in early March was now fixed. The version number of RW seems to be unchanged from the patch back in December which was the last patch notes as well. I also don't remember installing an update. Yet my version of RW clearly has a client side bug fix.
While I appreciate that the bug fix got pushed out, I'm not clear how. |
There is some stuff that's controlled on the servers and not client side. Possible they patched the server.

This is a dialog box. Definitely a client side bug fix.
|
I've not seen an update in months.
|
Neither have I but this
http://forums.wolflair.com/showthread.php?t=60293 Is fixed. The view selection control is now not greyed out and works as expected. |
A stealth update? Interesting.
Maybe it was greyed out originally because a flag on the server was set incorrectly? Something along the lines of: IF multiple_views = TRUE THEN gui_object_dropdown = greyedout ELSE gui_object_dropdown = not_greyedout ENDIF And they simply swapped it around server-side? |
If I recall correctly, everything except Realm Creation and Synchronization tasks happens locally.
|
Nope there's more happening server side.
|
What is governed on the server side?
|
I've seen changes to category definitions go out via server updates.
|
Category definitions are in the DB part of RW. The local DB talks to the server every time RW starts up. It even says that they are syncing.
But the bug fix I'm referencing appears to be a code change. |
