Deadlands Reloaded?

Calabim, are you asking on how to install the files to they are useable in HeroLab or how to build a character in HeroLab?


To install them, you will need to know where your computer saves your .user files. Mine are in the following directory

C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Hero Lab/data/savage

If that doesn't work for you, you will need to open HeroLab and then Open the Editor (Tools>Launch Editor), attempt to open a file (File>Open Data File), and then follow the breadcrumbs back so you know where to save the file.

Once saved, close HeroLab and reopen it. Open Savage Worlds. I don't have Deadlands installed so I can't tell you exactly what you will need to do from there, but you may need to check some Deadlands boxes on the Configure Your Character window.

From there, it should be fairly easy for you to figure out how to build a character.
 
Hey, guys. TOTAL idiot with all things cyber . . . I'm trying to download this and access it (if I can, you've SAVED me, as far as being able to use HL for SW goes) . . . but I'm trying to save this latest file and open it . . . and my computer is telling me it can't open it at all . . . is there a quick fix to this? Or am I sort of skarood?

Hey, guys . . . I've tried multiple times to save these files in multiple locations . . . when I unzip into the folder . . . I get a user file that nothing I have can open, and it has no effect on my copy of Hero Lab . . .

Any help, written as if to a total idiot, would be GREATLY appreciated . . . thanks!

you don't use .user files perse you drop them into the right folder and then they will become available when you start HL w/ that game system.
open HL w/ SW gamesystem

goto tools>explore folders>game data folder

this will open the correct folder. drop the .user files in and restart HL. it should appear as a usable source after that.
 
Um . . . again . . . I'm not usually THIS dense, I promise . . .

Do I unzip the DL file, or just drop it in zipped? I'd think I'd need to unzip it, but for some reason I'm having NO luck unzipping it . . .

Ah, got help from a local friend. Looks great! Thanks!

The only thing I noticed was that the Arcane Background (Chi Mastery) only conveys one Power, when it should convey two . . . easy enough to work around, though, and other than that, it appears to kick all kinds of *ss! :)

Hey guys. I've been trying ALL of the solutions in this thread and I'm still getting FILE: Deadlands.user (line 1936) - thing - duplicate record encountered ('powSuccor') .

I've tried the fix and re-downloading the files on the CheeseWeasel site. No joy.

Does anyone have a 'double secret final' versin of data files for Deadlands Reloaded *AND* know where to install them into the file to get them to work?

PM sent. I was able to install the Setting Adjustment file and I can take Guts as a skill. Is there an updated version of that file too?
 
Hy, MRex21 . . . sadly, with the updated version of Hero Lab I just downloaded . . . my DLR file stopped working, I can't access my characters, and I'm getting the same error code every time. I tried to get rid of everything and redo . . . no love.

Anyone else having trouble with the latest HeroLab interacting with the DLR package? And if so, any way to fix it?

I just got this file off the CheeseWeasel site and get the same error. Any idea how to get around it?
 
If you are running into the issue with powSuccor, PM me for the fixed file and the Setting Adjustment file to re-enable the Guts Skill.
 
Question: How do I handle Blessed powers in Hero Labs with this user file? It seems to want to let me only pick 2 powers and uses power points. Is there a work around?
