Half‐Goblin

Hello there

I have just picked up this book Half-Goblins of the Tangled Wood and am thinking of adding them to my camapaigh.

But I don't think they are in any of the Bestiary book or Tomb of Horrors.

Has someone done a custom version of these, or can it be done in HeroLab.

If I have to do it myself I don't mind just may need pointing in the right direction where to start, or is there a base I can work from.

Cheers Frank

It is likely doable in HL, although I've never seen in done yet. Without the statblock for the race I can't be sure of anything though.

Thanks Andrew for getting back to me.

This is the information I have.

Taller than their goblin antecedents but shorter than humans,
half‐goblins are scrawny creatures. Like their goblin kin, their
heads seem oversized for their bodies. Their eyes are black or
dark brown and hair is similarly of a dark hue while their ears
are slightly pointed. Roughly one in ten can pass for a human
(albeit a freakishly short and ugly one).
Half‐goblin advance by class level and have the following
racial traits:

  1. +2 to One Ability Score: Half‐goblins get a +2 bonus to one
ability score to represent their varied nature.
  2. Medium: Half‐goblins are Medium creatures and have no
bonuses or penalties due to their size.
  3. Normal Speed: Half‐goblins have a base speed of 30 ft.
  4. Darkvision: Half‐goblins can see in darkness for 60 ft.
  5. Goblin Blood: Half‐goblins count as both human and goblin
for any effect related to race.
  6. Swift: At 1st‐level, half‐goblins receive Fleet as a bonus feat.
  7. Rider: Half‐goblins receive a +2 racial bonus on Ride checks.
  8. Stealthy: Half‐goblins receive a +2 racial bonus on Stealth
    checks.
  9. Languages: Half‐goblins begin play speaking Common and
Goblin. Those with high Intelligence scores can also choose
from Abyssal, Dwarven, Gnoll, Gnome, Infernal and Orc.

This is one of the stat blocks I have.

Raging Swan Press is not one of the 3PP we have in the community stuff. I don't recall them having anything in HL actually.

Totally can be done using the Editor.

I would recommend reading the Glossary of Terms for the Editor. Then check out FAQ#2 for all the places to learn about the editor including YouTube videos.

Thanks for the advice ShadowChemosh

Still early days of me setting the Campaign up, but will let you all know how I am getting on.

Hello there

After a couple of misses and thank to ShadowChemosh pointing me in the right direction. Have started on the Half Goblins

So far have kept them as a NPC race and below is what I have added.

  • +2 to One Ability Score: Half‐goblins get a +2 bonus to one
ability score to represent their varied nature.
  • Medium: Half‐goblins are Medium creatures and have no
bonuses or penalties due to their size.
  • Normal Speed: Half‐goblins have a base speed of 30 ft.
  • Darkvision: Half‐goblins can see in darkness for 60 ft.
  • Goblin Blood: Half‐goblins count as both human and goblin
for any effect related to race.
  • Swift: At 1st‐level, half‐goblins receive Fleet as a bonus feat.
  • Rider: Half‐goblins receive a +2 racial bonus on Ride checks.
  • Stealthy: Half‐goblins receive a +2 racial bonus on Stealth
    checks.
  • Languages: Half‐goblins begin play speaking Common and
Goblin. Those with high Intelligence scores can also choose
from Abyssal, Dwarven, Gnoll, Gnome, Infernal and Orc.

I have attached the user file if anyone wants to use it.

Hello there

Well I made a Half-Goblin Elite Archer and now have a POR file for it.

Is there a way I can add it to the Encounter builder, or would I have to build a new Half-Goblin Elite Archer in the editor?

The encounter builder reads .stock files that are located in the same place you put .user files.

Note that a .stock is the same thing as a .por just renamed. So make a .por file that holds your different Half-Goblin characters. Rename the file to .stock from .por and place into your \herolab\data\pathfinder folder.

The next time the Encounter builder starts it will see the new .stock file and it will rebuild its index. Once it finishes your half-goblin will be searchable.

Thanks ShadowChemosh, I found it in the end.

Didn't know that about renaming por file to stock. As I have only one monster in there at the moment the profile it worked.

But once I add new will update, will change file name.

Next up is a Half-Goblin Adept and Goblin Sorcerer Bloodline.
