I know that you can scan all topics in the navigation panel for new links, but I don't know of any way to filter to just one group. For example, I would like to rescan all topics in the Places/Adventure Area group.
But there appears to be no way to filter by group. I would be nice if I could click on the tools button on a group's horizontal tab and select scan all topics in group for new links, or "show only topics in this group". Any other ideas short of spending a lot of time creating and applying custom tags or adding topics to a view, both of which would take a lot of time for the same reason -- no easy way to filter on a specific tab (that I know of). Can't you create a new "Topic View" (like the Story Almanac) containing only the topics that you want to link between, and then when that view is selected you can choose the option for "scan all topics in navigation pane for new links"?

Per above. Pretty sure I have done this. Create a topic view and assign your categories and then run the process with that topic view active.

As I stated in my OP, Topic View doesn't help because it takes a long time to assign everything to a topic. Or am I missing a way to assign an entire category to a view?
I can assign a topic, along with child topics to a view, but not an entire category. There is not "assign to view" context/tool-icon option for categories. RW Project: Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition homebrew world Other Tools: CampaignCartographer, Cityographer, Dungeonographer, Evernote |

Similarly, there is no way to search/filter by category, which would be very useful.

Categories can't be assigned. To my knowledge they are effectively just visual breaks in the layout.
