help with error

what would cause this error

Hero Lab was forced to stop compilation after the following errors were detected:

Cannot create core run-time file: C:\ProgramData\Hero Lab\data\pathfinder\lang.hlz

Opening large portfolios takes up memory, and Hero Lab is only allocated so much of the system's resources. After a while of opening large portfolios, this will end up happening - there's not enough memory left to recompile (to create a specific file needed by the recompile). The solution is to close and re-start Hero Lab.

If I read that correctly, you're saying that HL doesn't free up memory resources that are no longer in use? Or is the memory freed up, but this error is related to memory fragmentation and thus the lack of a single, contiguously available block of virtual memory?

Just trying to understand. :)

In the last few days I have reported several strange issues in HL to Colen when using the editor. Including the fact that Test Now! will get the system into a state where no "CORE" file gets loaded.

It never use to do this before to me and I think is a recent bug introduced. I am crossing my fingers Colen does his great job of squashing this bug. Having to do a total shut down of HL software to do almost any test is making 10 minute changes turn into half hour changes. :(

I get the same error above often now. I also get a bad situation where the CORE "tags" like Weapon Tags don't load. The situation "seems" to happen if the Pick is live on the hero already and you do a Test Now!. If I remove the Pick first I don't run into the issue as often. But this is definitely a "new" bug....

Like Collen said when I shut down Hero lab and reloaded hero lab the error went away. I had several items loaded in the editor so I think I just ran out memory.
