iPad client crashing after update

When I load a character the app attempts to load and then minimizes. Repeated attempts to open have the same result.

I deleted the app and reinstalled. It worked in free mode but as soon as link my license the problem comes back. I updated both app and system. no community packages on the retry but most of my portfolios have community content. Any ideas?

Sorry to hear you're having problems with Hero Lab. We've had the app in testing for over a week, and we haven't had these problems. :( Which model of iPad do you have?

To help me rule out some possibilities, please try the following:

1) Unlink your license and load a character within the app (any character)
2) On the "Select Portfolio" screen, go to "Get Help" -> "About These Data Files". What version does it show?
3) Also on the "Select Portfolio" screen, what version information does it show at the top-right of the app?

iPad mini 2.

1) had to delete and reinstall app to break license since app crashed on open

Same problem here

Exact same issue and answers to your questions here; except I don't use any Community packages at all.

Reloaded it and still getting the same crash every single time I try to log in.
 
Yes I am having the same problem.

iPad 2 I believe. It's one of the bigger ones.
12.11 version.
Not sure on the version of iOS.

Also there seems to be an error on my computer hero lab with some string or something missing after update.
 
I just want to chime in and say that it works fine for me running the latest beta, 7.5.0 (593), on an iPad Air running the latest iOS 9.2.1.

My portfolios were created at some point near the middle of the 7.3 version and have been gracefully loading into all later versions. I'm using the community Basic Pack.
 
Ah! iOS 8 turns out to be the important part - I can reproduce the issue under iOS 8. We'll be submitting an update to the app store very soon, so hopefully we can get this fixed. In the meantime, hopefully it continues working for you in unlicensed mode.

So far, 7.5.0 has been very stable for me. Even my portfolios with 21 heroes haven't been a problem (fingers crossed, of course!).

Awesome! We spent a ton of time over the last couple of months making optimizations and reducing memory usage to make HL work better with large portfolios. :)
 
same problem here. since last update, HL crashes on my 3rd Generation IPad that runs on IOS 8.4.1 I have HL 7.5.0 and my data files are version 12.1

I'm trying to create a new portfolio on that Ipad. When I select the Classes Tab herolab closes. After that moment, when I open Herolab, it tries to open last portfolio automatically, but that causes same error occurs and the app crashes again.
