RavenX - Dragonlance conversion

RavenX

Well-known member
I've been working on getting a Dragonlance data set converted for Pathfinder use. I am in the process of adding content from the Setting Book at this time. It may take me a little time to get everything ready to go.

Data Requests will taken via this thread.

Release Notes

V.1.4 Dragonlance Data Version 1.4 of the Dragonlance data files are now available for download! Enjoy!
Dragonlance Campaign Setting

Races
The following races will be included in the next release.

  • TBA (No new data with this release)

I managed to finally get the download link working like it was supposed to. Sorry that took so long. I had to take it all down and reupload it and tinker with the updates file a bit. It was like wrestling a bear made of code. I won though, so the rest of you can now download and enjoy the normal way.

If you are interested in helping with coding these files, PM me and we can discuss details on it.

My original coding for the races was done years ago, I am going to have to go through and make Racial Specials out of things I'd done with scripts so that users can apply alternate racial traits. Kender are done properly though now. I am going to make the Afflicted Kender an alternate racial trait that the user can add (which will disable the correct racial specials as appropriate).

Dragonlance for Pathfinder in HL

hello, RavenX!

I would be very interested in helping but I really do not know how to code or script in Hero Lab.
But I could do Data Entry? at least?
ANYTHING to help accelerate your project because I have been trying to run a DL game using Pathfinder for a while now. And this would seriously make my campaign(s) in that world SO MUCH EASIER.

PLEASE email or tell me what i can do to help?
ANYTHING!

Life has slowed me down on data entry lately. I have been spending a good chunk of my day mixing and pouring concrete foundation slabs and just haven't had time for additional data entry. I've sent you a private message to get you started.

Hey RavenX, just curious as to the status of this project. I'm desirous of returning to Dragonlance, but both my players and I all use hero lab in play. Also, I would like to offer to help in any ways possible as well, but I have limited scripting knowledge or experience.

I haven't had a chance to crank on it more lately. I am planning on getting back to it, likely sometime around Gen Con since I won't be at the convention. I am a bit swamped with paid work and life right now to crank out data.

I am going to attempt for an end of August release on whatever I have done. The data may not be complete in the initial release but I will add to it as time permits.

I'm really looking forward to this as well. My roommate and I started making our own Forgotten Realms data and then I found yours. For my campaign we're starting in FR, going to Ravenloft and from there Krynn so your work has been greatly appreciated.

I do have a couple of questions though...

There are some of the prestige classes that we couldn't find in the Forgotten Realms one.. we were talking about making them. If we do, would you like for us to give you the data to add to yours?

Also, for Dragonlance will you be adding the various sects of Knights as prestige classes? I'm only asking because we want to try to make Lord Soth for the group to fight against and be able to make other Knights to maybe help the group.

Again much appreciation and admiration! You are awesome. =)

First off, I'd like to apologize for not getting to answer you sooner, I've been rather busy lately with paid work.

I'm not a big fan of prestige classes personally. I will get to them eventually, but you need to be careful with them. In particular from Forgotten Realms, many of the Prestige Classes were revised for 3.5 in the Player's Guide to Faerun, which replaces older Prestige Classes. I'd only be interested in Prestige Classes if they are the updated versions (or original if there is no updated version that replaces them). Submit those to me and I'll give you credit for adding them. Make sure you test everything and that they work correctly though. The reason I haven't gotten to them yet is that they are very time consuming to do. Each prestige class takes me between 1 hour and 2 days to code to be honest. Some of them are quite complex in the conversion process.

Also, for Dragonlance will you be adding the various sects of Knights as prestige classes? I'm only asking because we want to try to make Lord Soth for the group to fight against and be able to make other Knights to maybe help the group.

I will be adding the data as it appears in the books, I am starting with the Dragonlance Campaign Setting and am planning to tackle War of the Lance immediately following that work. Other books will be added as time permits once I get the basic material done. If it's in the DLCS book, then it will likely get added as I get time to do it. (The knightly order Prestige Classes are if I am not mistaken in the setting book.) I will say this, I am trying to get the data released soon, so the PrC's may be missing in the initial release, but they will appear in a future update when I get time to add them in. One thing to keep in mind is that I have to hand type all the material, it's not copy/paste from pdf files so it will take a little more time to get done.

Version 1.0 of the Dragonlance conversion is out now! Enjoy.

UPDATE: The download link has been taken down until I can figure out what is wrong with it. I'm not sure why it was giving corrupted errors, it shouldn't be doing that at all. I checked the data and it works fine.

Version 1.4 Release Notes

Bug Fixes. The main bug was in the updates configuration file. It's fixed, I checked it and the data is downloadable and importable finally. Just in time for the holidays! Enjoy!

I'll try to get more data added for the 1.5 release, but right now this is just the initial release data.
