Another Realm Works Beta release can now be downloaded (build 0.9.101.141). This version is available to all Beta team members AND all Kickstarter backers. This new Beta includes a few bug fixes and enhancements. Please note that ONLY Beta team members will be able to leverage the syncing capabilities at this time. We'll announce when syncing becomes available to all Kickstarter backers.

NOTE: This release comes hot on the heels of Beta 140. All the details for that release will be found in this thread.

Important general items about this release:

  • Once you upgrade to this new version, you MUST connect to the server to complete the upgrade. This version will NOT be usable offline until it has contacted the server once. After that initial connection, you can work offline.
  • Working offline does not require entering a password. Any password you've entered will be ignored when you click the "Work Offline" button.
  • If you encounter any crashes, please send the crash reports so we can figure out the problem and fix it quickly. Be sure to include a description of what you were doing prior to the crash, as that will help us figure out the problem significantly faster.

Here's a list of the important enhancements and bug fixes in this release:

  • The launch dialog now provides the option to restore from a previous backup, making it much easier to leverage sneaker net.
  • You are only allowed to be logged in from a SINGLE machine at a time now. If you are logged in on MachineA and then attempt to log in on MachineB, you will be prompted to force MachineA to be logged out automatically. This is an added safeguard against users inadvertently being logged in on two machines and trying to sync them at the same time.
  • Certain aspects of Player View were not previously being saved and restored. They are now.
  • Creating a new realm with tutorial data was crashing in many cases. This is now fixed.
  • A few users were encountering a crash associated with embedded links in content. It's now fixed.
  • Syncing of tutorial data was failing and should now work.
  • In the Navigation pane, the Tools menu can now be opened via the <F6> keyboard shortcut.
  • The Filter dialog can now be opened via the <Ctrl+Shift+F> keyboard shortcut.

The details for accessing this new release are the same as previous ones. All the rules for access and accounts are unchanged. Please report any issues to us and we'll work to get things fixed as quickly as possible.
