Editing bmp files

I was trying to make some simple changes to logo.bmp, and everytime I copied it back in place and ran HL, the program would crash.

I made sure the bit depth, bits per inch and resolution were identical.

Crash after crash after crash (error said 'bad read')

I was using GIMP 2.8 to change the graphics, and finally found the problem.

When you export an image (this may be specific to GIMP 2.8), under Compatibility Options, I had to put a check mark in 'Do not write color space information'

Leaving this box unchecked, no matter what other thing I tried, caused Hero Lab to crash when starting.
