OK, I had some spare time last night and put up the 1.6 file with all the updates. I also posted 5 video demos that I made for Hero Lab.

The videos are just going over the basics. I took a look at each tab and explained in. Not much in depth yet but there will be more to come. This weekend I'll go over the Menus, the dashboard, and tacticle console. Later I'll get into how to create items, feats, things like that.

I has posted the videos up on www.youtube.com. If you would like to see them just head over there and search for "TheChiefweasel" or Hero Lab and you should find me. My intention is to provide demos of how Hero lab works and how to use some of the features available to you. I do plan on doing this when I create the beasts for the Kingmaker AP. That way people can see how a creature is created from the ground up.

The only issue that I have run into is the time and size of the files for youtube. Each video can only be 15 minutes and 2gig in size. To create a creature it might take several videos.

So feel free to take a look at them and also feel free to post any comments or things you would like me to video demo (either here or in youtube). I am sticking with the Pathfinder system at the moment since its what the majority of people are using. I am starting a Shadowrun campaign in the next month or so, so as soon as I understand that system better I might create some videos for how to use Hero lab for it.

Once Realm Works comes out I'll start posting demo videos of that as well.
 
Hero Lab Demo PT 2 you kept saying (7:06) additional spells instead of additional skills.

Hero Lab Demo PT 3 when you added a custom potion on the Create Potions you were adjusting the CL and saying that it was the quantity(4:54).

Other then those two minor errors you did a great job.

and anyways, if I can get a character to use a skill its like magic happening, lol.
 
I figure you took the time to make the videos, I can take the time to watch them.

I know you stated before that you are new to making videos so I thought I would be nice and put my minor critiques here instead of on youtube.
 
No problem, i welcome all advice. I'll try to be more careful in the future. I'm new at this (I can still use that excuse for a few weeks at least, right? lol)

Along with this, if anyone else has any videos that would like to make, i can either give them a shot or they can make tham and i would be happy to post them on the same channel with the other ones.

First want to say Awesome job dude! :D :)

I so wanted to do this but not allot of time. I have started to look at software so my question is what are using?

I would love to make some for the Editor to cover the most common questions like even how to start the editor and make a basic item (ie Thing). What a bootstrap or gizmo is.

If I did this what codec/file format do you need to be able to post to YouTube?

I've just posted another video. This one is how to create a new skill.

I had some issues with the new software so it Took a lot longer then i thought it would, sorry for just the one video today.

This week its How to create a Spell and How to Create a Feat.

The first one is already up and the second should be up there in a few mins, it just takes youtube time to process it.
 
hhhmmm, it seems that the youtube mess up last night meant my videos didnt get loaded. Sorry about that, I'll load them up when i get home tonight, should be by 5pm EST.

I just got back into playing (DMing, actually), and I was looking for a way to speed up combat. Having a 5-character party and maybe a dozen monsters/NPCs makes running combat on paper an extremely time consuming process. I think I'm going to try and learn the Tactical Console and give it a go for the next session. Thanks for the video!

I am starting to have some more free time. I had a large family emergeny over the holidays so I have been out of touch for about 6 weeks now. But want to get back into things, and the videos are a part of that.

I have a few I want to make to go over the following subjects:
  • Create, Deleting, and maintaining multiple data sets. Including how to do official updates when you have multiple.
  • Proper way to make a .por file so that it prevents 99% of errors for others when opening it.
  • How to create a .hl file and the tricks/tips I have learned in making them.
  • How to create and format a xml file so that people can have there own Secondary Update URLs running.
  • When install a (.hl) file how to override the defaul install path and install into a different data set.

Sorry to not get a new video out this weeekend. I seemed to have fallen into the license problem. I had an HL update that required me to reactivate the license, which in turn locked me out because of early reactivation. I'll try to get the system working this week and see what I can do. Again, sorry for the delay.
 
OK, I think I have my license issues workign again. Is there are demo videos that people would like use to create for them?
