Version 6.1 of the Pathfinder files is now available from the automatic updates mechanism within Hero Lab.

This updates the Pathfinder Society rules to version 4.0, adds the Goblins of Golarion book to the Races #2 package (which is a part of the player's companion bundle), and adds the Faiths of Balance book to the Golarion #1 package (which already contains the Inner Sea Primer and Faiths of Purity). It also includes player content from Adventure Path issues #47, #48, and #49.

Inner Sea Magic, the Pathfinder Society Field Guide, Dungeons of Golarion, the remaining chapters of Ultimate Combat, and some incomplete material from Ultimate Magic are still in progress, and will be available as soon as possible.

This update also includes some bug fixes, mostly concentrating on bringing Hero Lab up-to-date with Paizo's errata and FAQs.

Here's the change list, copied from the FAQ:
New Releases!

  • Content from Goblins of Golarion is now available in the Races #2 package.
  • Content from Faiths of Balance is now available in the Golarion #1 package.
Enhancements & Changes

  • Updated the Pathfinder Society rules to version 4.0.
  • Added player content from Pathfinder #47, Ashes at Dawn.
  • Added player content from Pathfinder #48, Shadows of Gallowspire.
  • Added player content from Pathfinder #49, The Brinewall Legacy.
  • Updated the Pathfinder files with corrections from Paizo's FAQs and Errata documents.
  • Made some changes to the look & feel of the Skills tab.
Bug Fixes

  • Corrected the Pathfinder Society allowed/disallowed settings for Ultimate Combat's contents.
  • The Combat Riding trick should not grant armor proficiencies.
  • The Grab special ability should allow a creature to grab targets of its size or smaller, rather than those smaller than it.
  • The Oracle's Sidestep Secret revelation should not apply to CMD.
  • Lingering Performance was missing from the bonus feat list for the Sorcerer's Maestro and Rakshasa bloodlines.
  • The Witch's Light Patron Theme should grant Fiery Body as a 9th level spell.
  • The Witch's Insanity Patron Theme should grant Distracting Cacophony, rather than Mad Hallucination at 6th level.
  • The Witch's Ancestors Patron Theme should grant Wierd at 18th level.
  • The Critical Focus feat should not be a prereq for the Blighted Critical Mastery and Greater Blighted Critical feats.
  • The existing version of the Heirloom weapon trait has been replaced with a version that grants proficiency in the selected weapon. The other options - bonuses to attacks of opportunity and combat maneuver bonuses, have been created as separate traits.
  • The Adventurer's Journal and Prestige Journal now use the same sort order.
Data File Authoring

  • Added arcane spell failure, armor check penalty, maximum dexterity bonus, initiative details, item slot tracking, and spell counts for all classes to the custom output XML format.
  • Added the Improvised and Sunder qualities to the list of weapon special abilities.

Looks pretty solid Mathis I have one request for 6.2 could you add a 2 and 3 XP check box as Pathfinder Society now has Mods that goes up to 3 XP (or 2 if you have a PC die).

The 3 XP box and its 1.5 XP counterpart would mean that too much space was needed on the template - I'd probably have to make them taller, meaning fewer would fit on a screen, and beyond 2 checkboxes, it just gets confusing which one you're supposed to use. Modules can just be entered as a trio of journal entries.

Can you guys take a look at this and adjust Hero Labs accordingly for PFS?

I still have not tracked them all down yet, but Some boons at Gen Con where added to PFS play that cause Herolabs to scream at you when you try to put in.

  • Gen Con 2011 Exclusive: Tian Weapon Training - You gain Proficiency with one Eastern Weapon. If you do not have proficiency with all martial weapons, choose one weapon from Table 3-2 on page 131 of Ultimate Combat. If you already have proficiency with all the weapons on Table 3-2 through a class feature granting proficiency with all martial weapons, instead choose an exotic weapon from table 3-1 on page 132 of Ultimate Combat
  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #1: Affliction Immunity (Immune to 1 Curse, Poison or Disease)
  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #2: Heavenly Blood (Aasimar) - Grants Aasimar as legal play for PFS for 1 character
  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #3: Taint of the lower Planes (Tiefling) - Grants Tiefling as legal play for PFS for 1 character
  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #4: Unexpected Inheritance - 100 gp x Character Level granted as a one time payment
  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #5: Free Vanity - Choose one vanity from page 60-63 of the Pathfinder Society Field Guide costing 5 Prestige Points or less. You gain the benefits of this Vanity at no cost. You may not select the same Vanity again, even if you spend Prestige Points on it at a later time.
  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #6: Elemental Ancestry (Air) [sylph] - Grants Sylph as legal play for PFS for 1 character
  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #7: Elemental Ancestry (Earth) [Oread] - Grants Oread as legal play for PFS for 1 character
  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #8: Elemental Ancestry (Fire) [Ifrit] - Grants Ifrit as legal play for PFS for 1 character
  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #9: Elemental Ancestry (Water)[Undine] - Grants Undine as legal play for PFS for 1 character
  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #10: Corvidblooded (Tengu) - Grants Tengu as legal play for PFS for 1 character
  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #12: Demonslayer - You gain a +1 bonus on all attack rolls made against creatures of the demon subtype. Additionally, you either gain Abyssal as a bonus language or treat Knowledge (planes) as a class skill. Cross through the option you do not choose.
  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #14: Graveblooded (Dhampir) - Grants Dhampir as legal play for PFS for 1 character

I am still trying to get more info on Boon #11 and track down Boon #15.

Just got the ones I was missing

  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #11: Extra Trait: You gain an extra trait from any legal source. This trait can not belong to the same type as one you already possess and you must bring a copy of its source to any session in which you play this character under the normal guidelines for using Additional Resources.
  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #13: Devilslayer: You gain a +1 bonus on all attack rolls made against creatures of the devil subtype. Additionally, you either gain Infernal as a bonus language or treat Knowledge (planes) as a class skill. Cross through the option you do not choose.
  • Gen Con 2011 Boon #15: Trained Eye: Your experience as a field agent in the Pathfinder Society has trained you to notice minute details. You gain a +2 bonus on all Perception checks.

What did you guys add for the Updated the Pathfinder Society rules to version 4.0.?

Edit: Going through updating my characters, I have to say it does not support Pathfinder Society rules to version 4.0. other then adding the new factions it seems. You guys have a lot to do until you can say it Supports PFS 4.0.

Pathfinder Society - Changing factions Removes all prior Prestige Points and and makes old Faction traits as illegal.

You should keep all prestige points gained prior to the change *Minus possible cost of changing faction if not first free change* and Prior faction traits are still legal.

This makes changing your faction annoying because you have to delete everything in your Prestige Award Journal (Should be called Prestige Points Journal now) and re add them.

Also TPA is now Called Fame and CPA is now called Prestige Points

Edit: You guys barely update Hero Labs for PFS 4.0 support.

For all the extra boons, I'd say just add the thing, and ignore Hero Lab's error message. The fact that you're carrying that special chronicle with you means you have the right to ignore that.

The other option is to make all these available to all PFS players, but that's misleading to new players - there's not a way to make it obvious enough that you're only allowed to do this if you have that chronicle, and if the Aasimar isn't greyed out, you'll have people arriving at PFS events with an Aasimar character and no special chronicle to allow them to use it.

I'm afraid the process of changing factions is just too complex to support well in Hero Lab. That really has to be left up to people to implement themselves.

I'm sorry i didn't change the name of TPA to Fame - That's planned for when I implement the more extensive prestige changes in the Field Guide/Inner Sea Magic

BTW I have made all of the missing adaptions for the Infiltrator Archetype in the APG for my home game. Do you mind Mathias if I post them here or send them to you?

Wonderful - I'd be happy to integrate them into Hero Lab with your permission. My email address is my user name here, @wolflair.com.

You can also post them here for others to use in the meantime.

You can't do it similar to Feats and Traits? Something you have to select and add to your PC to get the option?

Wait huh? What does that mean?

As the "Officially sponsored" Character builder for Paizo I "Expect" that at some point Hero Labs will be able to support all options. I can understand something not being easy to do, But that is not an excuse not to do it.

I would hope you will add this option to the Program no matter the difficulty in doing it, though I would understand it may take awhile.

The Excuse, "Oh that is too hard" is a very poor excuse.

Edit: as of right now I literally can't change my Faction because it breaks the character, that is not an acceptable problem, and needs to be tackled in the future, not left on the way side because it is to difficult to implement.

Edit Edit: Now if you meant it "Can't" be done, that is a different issue, though I would be disapointed about that since my software of choice can't fully support my main use of it, but I would be more understanding.
