We had one user report this same problem a few days ago. Colen has been working with him to try and sort out the issue. Colen will contact you directly tomorrow when he's again in the office. Hopefully, he'll be able to correlate the details of your problem and the other user in order to figure this out.
Stay tuned.... -Rob At 01:35 AM 4/25/2006, you wrote: Quote:

I am having the same problem. I upgraded to 3.1c it bombed. I purchased an extension to my license thinking that was the issue reinstalled and it worked fine for that session. After a reboot it is back to the application error.

In my case the problem was the file abprefs.xml so as a workaround, until a fix will be available,
Open the file abprefs.xml, delete all the content, save it, put it in read only, start AB. If not work, open the abprefs.xml, delete the last line the one that put <document signature..., save it, put in read only, start AB. Hope this works for you. |

I needed to delete everything but the XML definition line. Then saved it and I could get back in. Thanks!

Try to delete all but this line <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> save and put in RO mode.
If not work, in my case also work cheating the exe file. 1- Make a copy from ArmyBuilder.exe 2.- open in hexmode with a program like ultraedit, hexedit.. 3.- Search for abprefs.xml in hex mode, this is 616270726566732E786D6C 4.- When found change by 0000000000000000000000 5.- Save the new file and test it. This works form me in the file version 3.1.3.92 (Product Version: 3.1c#92) Please notice that this is only a workaround until a fix will be available and no I can not guarantee that everything works ok by changing the exe so use this method only if no other solution is found. |

The following sequence of steps worked for a user who couldn't get the other suggested methods to work:
1. Delete AB from your computer. 2. Install AB from scratch. Do *NOT* launch AB. 3. Open the file "abprefs.xml", delete the contents, and save it. 4. Mark the file "abprefs.xml" as read-only. 5. Launch AB for the first time after installation. Hope this helps, Rob At 12:33 PM 5/15/2006, you wrote: Quote:
